Return request from zero feedback buyer (possible fraud)

Hi,

I have a non-business account for over 10 years with 100% feedback (it's my other account which I mostly sell, not this one I'm posting) and I have never been in this situation again

A zero feedback buyer asks for return claiming that the item 'doesn't work'

I've already send email asking what's the problem, info and photos. Fortunately I've a video of the item working

Since it worth over 300 euros and it is heavy (about 50 euros postage)

I have a no return policy

His messages are two-three words long, so most probably a fraud (gonna ship me back a brick or something)

There is no option for him to pay at least the shipping and hope I get the item back

What's if I decline the return and message him to give me proof and info ?

The message of ebay even states that there is a possibility he can keep the item and get a refund !!!

Does ebay really gonna see the obvious ?

Re: Return request from zero feedback buyer (possible fraud)

if the buyer sends back a damaged/another unit or simply some garbage, (I suppose to examine the item) so how the ebay gonna decide that the buyer is only entitled only for partial refund (or maybe no refund if I get garbage ?)

What's the procedure ?

There is no procedure.  This is determined the second the buyer opens a case of Item Not As Described.  The buyer is presumed to be correct, and if you accept the return and the item arrives back in your mail, you MUST refund in full or eBay will take your money and refund for you, while giving you a whopping defect on your account.  A couple of defects will get you bounced out of selling.  If you DENY the return, then Ebay just decides you don't want it back and proceeds to give the refund from your account anyway.

Re: Return request from zero feedback buyer (possible fraud)

How do you inspect something before it is received? Even if a buyer sent you pictures, you cannot be certain it is what you sent. Again- if ANY seller does not accept a return on a SNAD claim, they will be out both the item and the money as well as the ebay fees for the sale, plus they will have a nasty strike against their account for failing to cooperate in the case.

If you reject the package for any reason, ebay will refund the money. If they send nothing back, ebay isn't going to force a refund because they go by the tracking number to prove receipt.

Should this be a scam, what you can do after the return and refund are complete, you can report the buyer to ebay. If they send you back a different item, that is mail fraud and you can report them to the carrier as well as the police. Some have gotten their funds back after doing these things and providing ebay with proof of that by sending them the reports.

Don't sit and wait for a reply from ebay on this. Be sure to respond to the open case before your time is up or you will not like what will happen.
