Can anybody please help! I sold an immaculate 2nd hand oven 6th Dec to a fella who came to collect it. I showed him it working and he checked it, was very happy with it, then gave me the eBay pick up code. Next day he got in touch saying one of the display buttons didn’t light up which I said it never had and it was just a navigation button to the main LED panel (all auction pics showed exactly how it looked when in and off). Then next day he bombarded me with messages, called me a liar etc, so even though it states I don’t accept returns I said even though there’s nothing wrong with it to just bring it back (meaning next day) cos he was upsetting me and wouldn’t stop messaging. He never replied to me after that to accept or arrange the return so I presumed I’d called his bluff and he’d decided to keep it. I’m sure he was just trying to get some money back tbh. He’s now opened a return against me 20 days later. I’ve contacted eBay who said I need to send and pay for a return label and if it comes back damaged they’ll step in. It seems that even though there’s nothing wrong with it at all, he saw it before taking it that as a seller I have no rights? I can’t do a label cos it’ll cost over £180 to get it back to me which is almost as much as he paid for it (£250) because of the size and weight. So I’ll be out of pocket £430+ with an oven that could very well be damaged and for all I know been used for the 3 weeks he’s had it!
I’m really at a loss as to how to proceed cos eBay just say to create a return label. It seems so unfair that sellers just aren’t protected from this happening? Any idea what I can do or what rights (if any) I have please?

@tez93 I would make arrangements with him for you to pick it up. I'm not sure of the rules there. In the US, there are designated online pickup sites, mostly police stations, libraries etc. And you're absolutely correct, sellers are left out to take the loss. You could try the facebook for business page and send them a private message explaining your situation. Ask them how you can handle this. If it was a local pickup, I don't see why the return would only be via shipping. Best of luck.
