Return of the middle man

I want eBay to return to just being the 'middle man' instead of being the hindrance & interference it as become.  I pay rent for a monthly store front.  I do not pay eBay for anything except a way to get more eyeballs on what I'm selling.  After that, butt out!   🙂

I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony.....but I doubt either one of us will get what we want....

What are they interfering with you? Buyers see your ad, they see your stuff, and if they want, they buy.

All malls have rules and regulations that the renters have to follow. eBay is no different.

The only way to only follow your own rules would be to have your own website, but even then, you’d have to follow your payment processors’ TOS. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So as the middle man what would that job description actually look like? Perhaps not intervening at all with your sale? So that might work well for an honest seller, but what about the one’s on here, very few I reckon, who take advantage.  If I were to open my own store on the web, there would be many rules I would have to follow as far as my payment processor, credit card chargebacks, rules that apply to SEO. People on Facebook SELLING THINGS PROBABLY GET TAKEN all the time. I have thought about buying stuff on there but NO WAY, with very little intervention if I get taken for a ride.

ok, that's all fine and dandy > that  is your "want"... but me thinks you best take your suggestion to the eBay executive and see if they will oblige you...otherwise the only way to "be your own boss" is to have your own website, so maybe work on that in the meantime..

There is no perfect all the time seller experience.

There is no perfect all the time ebay intervention

Come to think of it there is NOTHING, perfect in this world.

Yes you do.  eBay is not a buffet.

So because nothing is perfect, we can't try to make ebay a better site in terms of seller desires?

This is the thinking some here continually express, that just says lie back and take it, you might enjoy getting rammed.  Thats basically the context of these types of comments.

These types of people never put out any improvements or discuss real problems that really ought to be addressed, they just try to rip anyone and say it will never happen so don't mention it in the forum, just be a good little seller and take it, sometimes its lubed and not so bad...

Wait...wait!  Someone else just started a thread saying that eBay is cutting out the middleman.  So...it's The Return of the Middleman?  Sounds like a funny Juzo Itami movie.

@rugerskick

Well since there is no middle man there is nothing to discuss. It's just a complaint about nothing. Why do you say you need lube, maybe we can discuss your problem instead.
