Return Request

Hello, friends!
The question is this: I sold the goods, the buyer wants to return the goods. I do not accept returns. The buyer has initiated a return.

I accidentally hit the "accept refund" option.

By mistake.

Can this process be canceled so that a dispute can be opened?

Your 'mistake' probably saved you a ton of grief and money.....

(Remember, No Returns does not mean No Refunds) ebay's MBG is absolute

You do not want to involve ebay....I do not know your circumstances, but there are very few that will allow you to NOT ACCEPT a return for a refund.......

look through the forum for other posts regarding returns/refunds

As others have stated, once you clicked on "refund" it's  done deal.

If it makes you feel any better, I've made the same mistake before too.   😉

If you already refunded, there's nothing you can do.

 

If you had disputed the INAD, the buyer would still be refunded and you would have lost the fee's and got a defect.

Looks like I didn't describe it well...
I clicked "accept return" by mistake.

But I didn't send the label yet. Haven't returned the money yet. It's just that this process "as if it had just begun."
I contacted the agent and they told me, that I can use the "deal" option when ebay gets into a dispute.

So all is not lost, as it turns out!
But, anyway, thank you all for your help!

Word of warning...these folks give sound advice. 

From what I understand, if you open a dispute, the likely result will be the buyer keeping the item AND getting the refund, and you lose the FVF. At least when you accept the return you get the item back. Listing text is merely a rarely effective deterrent for buyers who arent aware of the MBG, IMHO.

 

There are 100s of threads on this subject and I am not sure I have read one that turned out in the disputing seller's favor, but you can try!

Approve the return and shipping label.

Once you do the buyer has one month (i know, ridiculous) to return the item to you.

If you receive it, refund.

If you don't receive it, no refund and you wont be charged for the return label.

If you ask ebay to step in and you escalate the return dispute you WILL lose. Send a return label and be done with it. If an ebay rep tells you any different then they are flat out lying to you. 

"No returns" is for remorse returns ONLY. If your buyer filed a Not as Described dispute you need to send that return label if you want the item back but either way, ebay is going to be forcing the refund if you don't do it on your own. If you let ebay step in then you will have a seller defect on your account.

It sucks, I get it, but save yourself the grief and send that return label asap!

ALL eBay buyers (in nearly every single category) have eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.  The MBG is somewhat biased in the buyer's favor.  ALL sellers need to make it their business to learn about the MBG because it can impact their bottom line.

Realistically speaking, there is no such thing as "no returns" on eBay.  All a buyer has to do is to open an item not as described case and eBay will require the seller to send the buyer a prepaid return label and to refund in total upon receipt of the returned item. If the seller refuses to do this, the result will be that eBay will refund the buyer from the seller's own funds and allow the buyer to keep the item.  

It makes no difference if the seller KNOWS there was no flaw in the item.  He has to abide by the MBG.  You really need to read it.

Thank you for your help! But my question was different.

I was wondering, if it is possible to cancel the "return process" started by mistake.

I accidentally pressed this option. Well, as it were, "confirm" (when buying, for example) and "cancel". And here I accidentally clicked, and the process began...

I shall ask Ebey to step up for me. It's not about returning the goods, it's not a problem. The point is in principle: I am falsely accused of something that is not there...

Like the others stated, you can't undo what you did.  Accept the return.  Pray that the buyer actually returns back the same item.  In the future, be more careful if you have this situation again.  Read carefully.  KEEP your fingers away from the screen if using a tablet or phone.  Some devices are so sensitive that just having the finger near the screen, there will be a click.   Don't take it personally if the buyer lied about the flaw.  Once you get it back, hopefully you can still sell it. If there are flaws, make sure that you disclose the flaws.  Goodluck.

Yes - your truth. I need to be more careful and accurate... In the future I will try to do so. I'm not the first year on the site, but this situation is the first time. It's really a coincidence...
