Restrictions for ending auctions early with no bids?

I have ended some listings with no bids because I errored on the start time. As I was ending them, eBay pops up a message saying how it is bad to end auctions early and there is this excerpt when you click the Learn More button - “Ending listings early disappoints bidders, so we may place limits and restrictions on your account if you are doing so regularly.”

I know that it is bad to end auctions early with bids, but what if there are no bids? Could I possibly be penalized for ending those as well?

As long as there are no bids and you are in the required time frame, no restrictions.

Just cancel.

I suppose ending an auction that has no bids could disappoint somebody who has it on their watch list.  But I have never heard of anybody being penalized for ending too many auctions early. After all, that warning that you quoted says "disappoints bidders", so it's probably only referring to ending auctions that have received bids.

Hey @trinklingtear! Just as @inhawaii and @nobody*s_perfect  have said as long as there is no bids on the auction itself there is no penalty for ending it before it is set to end. There are some different scenarios that can be found here for if you end an auction early and there are bids on it. That is where the account could face some restrictions if auctions with bids are being ended early on a regular basis.
