Restricted item removed

Hi,

I recently had a 1880s copy of a 16th Century engraving removed.

It was Adam & Eve by Albrecht Durer, as there was nudity it was prohibited etc and sexual.

My picture is described as adult nudity, sexual  etc and must be relisted under those characteristics

This engraving of which I have sold previously, is currently listed by numerous sellers.

Why was my copy targeted? And should I relist

Thanks

Never relist a 'take down'- you risk suspensions and or permanent banning from the site.

Same reason the cop doesn't get all the others doing 80 on the Freeway. With Millions of items listed and relisted every day, not possible to 'catch' them all.

Adult section was banned by the new processor (adyen) and people just do a 'work around' until they are caught.

What category(s) did you have it listed in? That could be a clue as to why the bots caught it and it was taken down.

The issue here, is that a 400+ year old religious engraving has absolutely zero reason to be considered adult, nor pornographic. Look up the artwork yourself. Regardless, nudity in artwork is acceptable here per eBays rules:
"Nude art listings that do not contain sexually suggestive poses or sexual acts are allowed, but they must include the item specific attribute Subject: Nudes.  They can be listed only in the following categories:

  • Art categories
  • Collectibles > Paper > Pin Up > Vintage (Pre-1970)
  • Collectibles > Postcards > Non-Topographical Postcards
  • Collectibles > Photographic Images > Photographs"

OP, what category was it listed under...?

Except in this case, to use the tired traffic cop cliche, the driver was doing 65 on the freeway.  Its a Durer engraving ... from half a millennium ago.  The parts that might get the prudes all worked up have been obscured by the artist.

Adam & Eve caught the bot's attention

(checking, do most of the listibgs say "Adam and Eve" not &

If you list these it must be EXACTLY within the guidelines (category, attributes, photos, etc....)

As was mentioned, unfortunately...since you got warned, they will not cut you any slack if you relist it and are removed again.....

I do not know if you missed something in the guidelines, but tread carefully.....
