Removed Listing

I've done far more buying than selling on EBay over the years, so I hope perhaps some of you more experienced sellers can answer a question for me.

I received a message stating my listing was removed due to a violation of the prescription drug policy. The item I was selling can be purchased at many retail stores and online, and requires no prescription at all. In fact, there are currently 59 listings for the same product active on EBay right now.  And of course the message included the threat to suspend my account should I ever violate the policy again, item can't be relisted, etc.

Is this a common thing for sellers here? Am I wrong in assuming there's a check and balance process in place within EBay as to something's prescription/non-prescription status before taking these measures?

Re: Removed Listing

When I had an outdoor job I used a lot of Bag Balm on my hands and feet - not to mention the Absorbine for sore muscles when the days got really long.

Some of that animal stuff works just as well on humans! Not so sure about fish amoxicillin, though LOL! Smiley TongueSmiley Happy

Bag balm udderly works for chapped skin and to soften callouses, from my experience!

Re: Removed Listing

I realize you already made the decision to remove your listings. I will add to what others have said...the the removal was wrong and unfair. On two occasions I sold otc flea treatment after the pets I bought it for passed away. I got some of my money back and buyers got a good deal. You can appeal this but likely won’t have trouble selling elsewhere. Just a real shame eBay let’s this happen. Btw, the negative comment came from someone who is ALWAYS like that. I can recognize their posts without seeing the username. It has nothing to do with you or your post.

Wow. I was hoping for a cordial and friendly dialogue with other sellers regarding a legitimate question I had.

I gave very legitimate reponses to many of the points you raised.

If the matter-of-fact style of the responses that I gave offended you, my apologies.

Cute.

Re: Removed Listing

There is  a very fine line between matter-of-fact statements and rudeness. A few posters cross that line more than others. It is not helpful to posters with legitimate questions and concerns.

Re: Removed Listing

As I finally just heard from EBay regarding the removal of my listing I figured I'd share with anyone here who might be interested in their decision.

I'm told that EBay is no longer comfortable with having animal flea and tick products listed on their site for sale as they could be used inappropriately, so they are going through listings and removing them in batches.

So I guess this means eventually these products will not be sold here.

Thanks to all who offered advice regarding this issue.
