It would be interesting to know how eBay determined this bill to be a replica.

They didn't! Look upthread for the currency policy, there is a maximum amount sellers are allowed to list ( $1000). Presuming the OP started this listing with a price exceeding $1000 they were in violation of the policy.

The policy in not restricted to a single listing so even if the price was $999 if they also had another currency item listed they would be over the $1000 restriction amount.

Hi @slippinjimmy I always value your posts and respect your participation. In this case, they did remove the listing for failure to follow the replica currency policy, and not the Collectible Currency policy. The OP is outraged to have been removed for having a replica when apparently this is a genuine banknote. But as I noted upthread, he was actually in violation of the other policy.

There are hundreds of listings for $2 bills on ebay without any authentication. Why is this any different?

Because eBay is not asking for authentication.

eBay is asking for grading.

Ok, there are hundreds of listings for $2 bills on ebay without any GRADING.

Why is that any different?

Because their $2 bills not $1000 bills.

$2=on average not worth much

$1000=worth at least face value

A single seller is not allowed to list more than $1000 in ungraded currency.

Hundreds of listings for $2 bills from many sellers is very different than hundreds of listings that total more than $1000 from a single seller.

If you still don't see the difference, then I give up because you're yanking my chain.
