Received a negative feedback when we did nothing wrong. Sold a Black & Decker coffee Grinder, new in the box and here's the negative review I got:
Doesn't work!! Grinds nothing! Shame on Black & Decker's new grinder model. Nothing like the old model. The Cover design is too high. Sellers risking their reputation. I've tried 2 units. Useless Buyers risking reputation selling useless product.
She goes on to explain that she's using it to grind spices not coffee. No where does it says it can be used for spice grinding.
I asked for the negative to be removed through eBay and of course she didn't.
We work hard to do all of the right things in eBay to keep our ratings and feedback positive.

Yes it does, right on the back side of the box.
It says" Great for coffee beans, nuts and dried spices"

You might be able to get that removed because it's a "product review" and has nothing to do with the transaction.

Hi @gre_879234
Did you test the grinder to ensure its working order, since it was an open box sale?

Thank you, I didn’t see that. She had a legitimate product complaint, but as a seller I did everything right. I have free returns.
Thank you for your reply.

No, I didn’t want to dirty a new product still in the box.
Thank you

I regret that you are unhappy with your purchase. that the Coffee Grinder does not grind spices. Please return it for refund.
Note cross out and capitalization.
Normally, a Response is not necessary and works against the seller, but sometimes the lackwit gormlessness of the buyer needs to be (politely) addressed.
She is unlikely to know how to open a Claim.
If she does return it, refund the selling price, not shipping or sales taxes. And cancel the sale of the returned unit as Buyer Request.
What's the saying about insanity being repeating failed behaviours?

Thank you again.

The argument I would use to get this removed or trying to get it removed is as follows:
Ebay has messed with the current screen presentation for leaving feedback to also contain a review of the product. This is a confusing hot mess for a whole lot of buyers. In this particular case, the buyer left a product review as the feedback for the seller and THAT is against the rules.
Give that a shot and see if it makes a difference.

I understand. New open box coffee grinder would be impossible to test without making it used. Did buyer ask to return? That would have been much wiser than giving you a negative. I doubt ebay will remove this and you will have to look at it for a whole year. At this point I would contact buyer try and work it out, then later ask him if ebay can send a feedback revision link. This will all take some time, but not a whole year.

You've been given good advice, so let me add this: one negative feedback, while I know it stings, isn't going to hurt you, and you still have a great feedback percentage, and I for one wouldn't hesitate to buy from you with that feedback (either your overall feedback, nor after viewing that one). You can still try to get it removed, or reply professionally if it isn't removed, but I wouldn't stress too much about it.
