Just a reminder to my fellow small sellers for whom a starter store was sufficient that there are now few advantages to a starter store as Ebay, in its infinite wisdom, now allows the same number of free listings for those without a store as those with a starter store. Yep, despite giving all other store owners an increase in free listings Ebay has basically decided to end most advantages of a starter store. This month you can cancel your store without penalty. The irony is if they had given me even a small token increase in listings I would have maintained my store and its annual subscription.

I agree. But my reasoning back in 2014 was my storefront made me look more professional, like I would with a website. Even paid someone to design my logo and storefront. AND ebay said store items would be shown in google shopping which held true until they started GTC where then you would only see random items, not all of them, due to ebay not paying the google bill lol. For years I had a basic store and never really used more than half of the free listings for 22.00 per month. The day they came out with starter I did the switch for 4.95/mo/250 free.
Am hearing people with stores can opt out without penalty if they downgrade before April 30. Not sure if that applies if you outright cancel a store. Will just keep mine as is...because as we all know, if you change anything, another thing will be adversely affected.
