I run "Make Offer" on multiple items. However I have them set with a price point that's acceptable to me, so if someone makes an offer, its either auto-accepted, or auto-declined. I don't have to do anything in these cases which is how I wanted it.
However.
I just had someone make an offer, that was above my minimum accepted limit so it should have auto-accepted, but it didn't. I double-checked the offer settings, they were correctly set... But I had to manually review it and accept it. I thought that was strange and wanted to see if anyone else was seeing that behavior?
If the buyer includes a message with the offer, does that alter the feature so it has to be manually accepted, regardless of the amount? They had included a message, which is why I ask that specifically.

There are two possible reasons for this. One, as you speculated, they included a message. The other thing that can cause this to happen is an annual increase in system activity experienced during this period, which can cause processing delays.

I think it may be the former.
Funny part about the message. They stated they would pay immediately, and that they have perfect feedback. Who does that? And why would you bother to say that in an offer message? Seem funny to anyone else?
And its been nearly 20 minutes. Starting to wonder when the immediately part kicks in. lol

Well, some people don't live on the internet 24/7. So, they may have not seen your acceptance yet.

Yes, the message is why. Sometimes buyers will ask for things like Free Shipping in a message, and it shouldn't be auto-accepted in that type of situation of course.
As for why they said what they did, who knows. Some people get the idea that it's going to make a seller more likely to trust them, I suppose, though it usually has the opposite effect on me, or maybe they just like bragging about themselves.

The same reason some sellers who post on this board start with a lengthy blurb about how long they have been on eBay, that they have x amount of feedback, that they always ship on time, blah blah blah.
Into your life it will creep

I never said I was worried about it. Just that when someone says immediately, but they should have said something more realistic.. I just thought it was funny was all.
Yeah, I kinda figured. I hadn't had that happen till this one popped up, since I started using a min/max acceptance method where I don't need to respond. As for what they said, yeah, its like.... Okay.... But they have since paid and I have already packaged and its ready to go out tomorrow. So no worries.
Yeah, that never happens on here. I try not to do that myself, but that doesn't mean I haven't. Though I always ship on time. That is true for me at least. 😁

Um .... where did I say you were or seemed to be worried ?
I simply said not everyone lives on the internet 24/7 ..... and probably didn't see your acceptance of the offer.
I'm sure that their "immediately" would have been after you accepted and they SAW that you accepted.

Speaking strictly as a buyer, I absolutely hate offers with auto-decline and auto-accept.
Have you ever considered just listing it for the price you want?

Some people like to haggle.
It gives them the warm pink fuzzies to "win" below the advertised price.
Many seller (like me) who opt for Best Offer with Accept/Reject parameters, notice that the automated Reject letter must be very well crafted because the buyer has made two or three BOs before hitting the Accept sweet spot.
Other buyers, just pay the asking price.
I'm happy with any of the possible prices.

There was another thread recently with the:
they would pay immediately, and that they have perfect feedback
message from a buyer.
Don't remember how that one went.

I prefer automated handling than to haggle personally back and forth.
Here's my reasoning:
Most often, buyers just buy the item at the price that I list it for. But I have the offer option enabled that way so that the buyer can set a lower price for themselves if they want. Sure, I could just set a price and be done. But look at this way:
There is a price that anyone would be willing to let an item go for, but it doesn't hurt to ask for more, if the item is worth it.
I think the items I do sell are pretty competitive all things considered at their listed price. Its not like I'm asking for 75% above what they sell for as an average, but I also don't always have the lowest price listed. I also provide excellent service and shipping with every item. But if someone was trying to make a better deal, they can. It's as simple as that. But I have way more buyers that just pay the listed price rather than make an offer. Either because the listed price is already good, they don't want to take a chance and lose out on the item not knowing if they have to wait for an offer to be accepted, or just didn't notice the option.
Seems to understand the point.
Well so far, no other red flags. They have paid, I have it packaged and it goes out tomorrow. *shrug
