I admit to being a bit of a newbie here at eBay, though I have experience with other platforms, and experience owning a B&M store. I know there are hundreds of years of experience here, so ...
I have read some opinions here about 'refreshing' inventory on occasion. I'm not asking about your opinion about it, I want to test it myself.
My question is ... how do I do it?
For example:
I sorted by oldest inventory first. I clicked on the first one, the oldest one, and clicked on "Revise Listing". I made a couple of minor changes, and posted the change and went back to the list and ... it still shows as being old.
So then, I clicked on "Sell Similar Item" and the system told me that it's a duplicate entry ... and the age date was unchanged.
I don't think that "Change Offer Settings" or "Create Shipping Discounts" will give me any satisfaction.
How do I do what I want to do?

To do what you're trying to accomplish (I think), you'd need to first End Listing, then Sell Similar. If you don't end it first, you'll have duplicate items, which either won't even list (as you've discovered) or if they do go through, could result in you getting out of stock defects for selling both listings.

You have to end the original listing, then go into your ended listings and click on sell similar. That will give you a fresh, new listing, with the new date. It gives you a little bit of an advantage too, as it will show up as a new listing in the search engine.
Good luck to you and welcome!

I frequently end all my items and relist them in bulk. It makes them new. It changes the item numbers so be careful.

The logical process is to end the listing and then create a new listing.
I doubt the process will make any difference in search placement or affect your sales.
Too many offers which improperly state the brand of the emblem within too many offers.
