I have seen increasingly more con artists trying to flim flam me. I find it annoying that I have to cancel transactions and then eBay dings me for my cancelling. It makes no sense to ship to a bogus buyer even though the last time I did ship, I was not out money as I did everything according to eBay and PayPal. Just frustrated.

If you are canceling without a proper reason..........buyer requested or buyer address.....you are getting an out of stock defect and a few of those will get you suspended or booted.
Only buyers can ding your DSRs.............when they leave feedback..........

You need to give more details on why you are maing these decisions to cancel the transactions before any of us can try to help you.
You have to be giving a reason when filing for a cancellation, what is the reason you are selecting?
What is the reason you fell a buyer is trying to scam you so that you want to cancel the transaction?

You have 4.9's, nobody cares, not eBay, not buyers.
How did a buyer "force" you to cancel. If they simply asked the absolute best thing for you is to comply, if they didn't pay you should file the proper non-payment dispute, get your fees back and block these "buyers" from leaving feedback.

Dear Seller,
All of the above commentary is correct in that:
You have to file an Unpaid Item Dispute and follow through the process if a buyer does not pay.
If the buyer did pay you need to ship the item.
Thank you.

I meant tranaction defect rate not dsr's. Anyway, I have had to cancel more than once as the buyer was a con. I was lucky the last time and actually got to keep my money even though there was a chargeback and I shipped the item.

It was paid by e-check and the 2nd scam out of Philly I have had recently. They use the same MO so it was easy to spot. They must be successful as they seem to know what they are doing and very slick. I saw no point in shipping and at best getting my money in a chargeback situation with the real buyer. Even the buyer's name sounded bogus. I cannot afford to have 4 or 5 con artists place orders I have to cancel and receive 4 or 5 tranaction defects.

It was a con like they tried to con me before. I listed something is wrong with the address as a reason to cancel.
The name sounded strange, the address was in a poor neighborhood, and they ordered the type of item usually only an advanced, sophisticated collector would order.
To try and confuse me, the ordered two, cancelled one, and paid for both with an e-check.
Their verbiage was identical to the last time somebody tried to scam me but when I actually shipped.

I don't even know where to begin with what you said above. It is just WRONG on so many levels!!!!!
