Hi,
I'm kind of shocked right now. I woke up this morning to see that my account was restricted after selling Metabo HPT: A5 Pro Series Nailers.
I use my account for purchases and for selling--it's been a mix of both for the past eight years. I have only had one dispute case in which I was unable to respond to a buyer regarding late shipping on an item due to a medical episode, in which we closed the case, I sent the item out to them for free as an apology. I sent a TI-84 that apparently died on the way in delivery, and let the buyer keep it. I've never had to process a return on my account, not once.
You can see what is in my store (old trading cards and controllers) that I'm now being asked to upload a receipt for. I have never had anyone claim an issue for an item I sent for delivery, and I don't know how I'm supposed to show proof of purchase for some of these very old items.
Can someone point me towards unrestricting my account?

Did eBay tell you it was the nailer that caused your restriction?
Or are you just telling us that the restriction happened to occur after you sold the nailer?

This restriction appeared after I sold the nailer. I sent them out and it's in delivery to the buyer. eBay did not specify the nailer caused the restriction. The email reads as:
"- Your selling privileges are temporarily restricted. You won’t be able to create new listings or revise any listings that are live on our site. You also can’t register a new account at this time.
- If you're a seller participating in managed payments, we are withholding your future payouts. You’ll start getting paid again after you resolve your restriction and your account is reinstated.
- Some of your listings may have been removed. You’ll find details of any listings we removed below..
- We have credited any associated fees except for any final value fee for your listing(s).
To help us remove the restriction on your account, you’ll need to:
- Provide proof of delivery for all of the items you sold on eBay by uploading tracking. Track items you've sold.
- Upload documentation showing that you purchased the item(s) recently listed on eBay. This can include a manufacturer's invoice or a receipt. You can upload your documents at the following link:
Make sure your documents are current, valid, and legible. Your name and username should appear on each document.
More specific details are provided below.
Once you complete these requirements, reply to this email, and we’ll review your account. We may ask you to provide additional information during our review. "
This is strange to me. I don't even know how to resolve this request since the items I have are old cards and controllers, with the items being as old as from 1999. Similarly, with the shipping request, I've only ever purchased shipping labels from my account.

Did you sell the item on ebay and Amazon delivered it?? Your link goes to an Amazon site. It's not a terribly pricey item, but given you haven't sold many expensive items and then have a sale of this value may have triggered the restriction. Do you have the receipts? How long is the restriction? You may want to come back and give a few more details in order to get the answers you need.

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion here, I just shared the Amazon link to show what the item was. I was in full possession of it before I sent it out, and the address is to my home. I've sold far more expensive items in the past worth up to $3000~ ranging from different electronics and collectibles, so this is a far more low value item to flag than I can understand. The restriction is permanent, and the receipts aren't available because I obtained the items as a gift and have long lost the receipts.
Thank you,

I suspect it's the quantity showing that you sold 4 of the same item.
I'm curious though about a couple of things.
First picture is a stock image, not helpful at all in proving what you're selling. Take your own pictures so buyers know you have the item and can see what they're getting.
Although I know nothing about the item, I do see that other listings as well as the Amazon listing show the brand as Metabo, yet your picture #3 shows a Hitachi nailer.

Suggestion....supply the receipts for the 4 nailers (Sold as "New")
also...stock photos annoy the bots
they probably don't care about the controllers...they are marked as Used
are the poke cards in the right category?

Hi,
The picture #3 is an error from my end since I used the stock photo function and didn't verify it. I'm not familiar with these tools and acknowledge that. That said, the second picture is a picture I took of the item as it appears because it's brand new in box. Should I have taken more pictures of the box then?
Best,

Hi,
1.) The items were given to me, there's no receipts available.
2.) The second photo is not a stock photo. It's mine. Please look at the background of my photo since it's me in my garage.
3.) Pokemon cards are in the right category and listed appropriately. I've sold many without issue as well.
Thank you,

You're indicating you cannot prove how you puchased the nailers?
Just really confused by your posts. If you sold multiples of these recently, not understanding why being able to demonstrate to e-Bay via a credit card receipt or something?

Update: eBay's seller CS contacted me. I was transferred to their account restrictions team and told to reply directly to the email disputing some information. I did this and the email bounced.
I had them reach out to me and repeated the same process, and the account restrictions team is not sure as to what I should do in regards to this. My shipping label for these four items were purchased on the site and the website recognizes the order as having that shipping label.
For now, I have been told to wait in replying to the email until the items are delivered. I have never heard of anything like this and the team wasn't sure what I should do because the agents said this is the first time they're seeing anything like this.

Hi,
You're indicating you cannot prove how you purchased the nailers?
1.) Yes. They were given to me. I'm sorry my post is confusing in that regard, but for full clarification: There is no receipt available because they were not purchased by me, so no transaction for them exists.
2.) I was given four of these ages ago, so I sold the four I had. There is no invoice to provide because the four of these were never purchased by me.
Thank you,

Sorry to hear. It's seems a bit extreme for an item that was only $250. I could see $3,000 as you mentioned. Ebay is trying to crack down on merchandise that may be stolen. Not the case with you, I'm sure, but it's all over not just ebay, but everywhere. See if you can reach out on social media:
https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/
Let them know your issue and they may be able to help you. Lots of positive posts here on these boards with their ability to be helpful. Wishing you a positive outcome. Good luck.

Thank you kindly for pointing me towards the right direction! I appreciate that. I'm pretty confused since their account restrictions team noted that I provided shipping for the items. For whatever reason, I'm being asked to provide receipts to a $7 VGA Cable 😂
I think you are correct, whatever filter or flag they're using needs serious work and I was probably just caught in the crossfire of things.
Thank you,

I am no expert....but if I sold 4 brand new "anything" below what anyone else was selling them for, it would certainly raise the level of awareness around that sale.....
they need to be proactive in detecting the selling of stolen items....
I have a couple 20 year old accounts......my neighbor works for All-Clad. Knows I sell on ebay and am familiar with it. He has 12 Stainless Steel 9 inch Pans. They retail for 199.00 each
"Because you know ebay-----Can you sell these for 100 each and we'll split the proceeds"
I open a listing with 12 available @100.00. Closest lowest price is 129.00. 1 buyer grabs them all.....
Think I am getting "flagged"? I need my neighbor to get me a receipt from his company showing I own these items. I don't know if a "Bill of Sale" from my neighbor to me will suffice only because they are "Brand New".....
