Hello fellas
I keep seeing people referring others to social media for answers from Ebay. Here is my experinece: I created account for just that and Ebay reported me and blocked my account . This time with different issue I messaged from my private account almost 24h ago and crickets. I really think it is not right for Ebay to answer questions only through social media. I don’t think I have to give up my privacy and show my face , interests and friends on social media to get answers and I don’t like that after surrendering to surveillance you are still being ignored and not getting any follow up. Customer service is really bad.
How long do you wait for Ebay to respond to your question on Facebook? Is weekend different?
PS I like shopping and selling on Ebay.

I know how to use facebook. I have private accohnt. I didn’t post anything to the main page. I am just saying how sick the process is and the customer service on facebook is as bad as the one on the phone. The difference is you give out your personal onfo to Ebay that can be sold elsewhere.

I have a different experience, great and quick responses from eBay and my facebook and twitter accounts are for eBay issues only, I don't do social media
Click on the 'help & contact’ button located at the top and bottom of ebay pages and follow the prompts
AND-OR
On chat: type in ’agent’ to get a live person instead of a bot
AND-OR
Click on receive a call back: depending on how busy they are will depend on length of time for your call back
Make sure your phone will not block the call back
AND-OR
You can contact eBay via social media with a private message:
AND-OR
Great customer service reps on these 2 social media sites

I feel eBay should have their strongestthosr Customer service response right here on ebay and not on those other sites. I don't have Facebook and Twitter accounts and iam not going to open one just to get my problems solved. I have requested callbacks by phone but those reps are not based in USA and they lack basic knowledge. I have chatted many times but the reps are poorly trained and they don't solve problems. I give eBay a 1 star for customer service only because there is nothing lower and I give a negative feedback. That all said I buy and sell here but iam a nobody.

eBay does not answer questions "only through social media". And I do not think eBay has ever said that they will answer questions "only through social media".

thank you for the information.
So, in order to contact eBay through Facebook, you still need set up a Facebook account correct? I'm sure I will start getting all kinds of junk e-mails and probably txt messages from Facebook using my information and probably selling / profiting off of it.

I have used FB on a couple of occasions to contact eBay and have no such experience of "getting all kinds of junk e-mails and probably txt messages from Facebook using my information and probably selling / profiting off of it." that you think is going to happen...
However, I much prefer the chat line option where one can actually have an interactive conversation with an eBay rep. That is where I have had the best results in getting any issue resolved.

It sounds like you may have expressed a whole bunch of mad comments about your problem. It is the only thing I can think of why your got booted.

@partfinds
If you contact eBay on Facebook, it is through the "messenger" app. If you post directly to their page with a problem, that is not acceptable. You need to use the SEND MESSAGE button. You need a facebook account to make use of the messenger portal.
While I agree that all users should have the option of "excellent, informed, eBay customer service reps that actually have the authority to help you" it is simply not the case. Having a facebook account does not require you to make friends, post photos, or engage in any social interaction with others. It is just a means to an end.
For example, contact regular customer service when you are a buyer victim of the "fake tracking scam" and see how far it gets you....."tracking shows delivered" (you lose). Appeal since you didn't get the parcel and the tracking was dated/initialed days before you even thought about buying you will get (in about five minutes) "we have carefully reviewed your case and found in favor of the seller since tracking confirms delivery"...... That is only one example. The social media based reps also help with fraudulent claims made by buyers who use those freight forwarder addresses, where regular CS is useless.
Yes, it is unfortunate that the regular CS agents can do little to help in many situations. So when it comes down to losing a pile of money due to fraudulent activity or standing your ground on your dislike and refusal to use the social media channels....then I can say the choice is yours. It is what it is.

Not quite getting why you thought you had to create another eBay account to post on FB?
When you contact eBay on Facebook you do not put your issue on the public posting page, you Private Message them so nobody else can see your details or queries.
I have been imported from Australia and this is my posting ID

I DIDN’T SAY NEW EBAY ACCOUNT. I SAID NEW FACEBOOK ACCOUNT IF YOU READ THE WHOLE THING YOU WOULD KNOW WHEN I STATED THAT AFTER THEY REPORTED ME TO FACEBOOK , AND FACEBOOK LOCKED THE ACCOUNT, I CONTACTED THEM THROUGH MY PRIVATE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT.

YES I KNOW HOW TO USE MESSANGER ON FACEBOOK. Nobody can but Ebay can see my private profile and are entitled to share and sell my private info about me. Maybe you think it is ok but I don’t.

Update after 24h the bit responded to log in my ebay account through Facebook to validate it. After I did…CRICKETS. If you have urgent matter and need to respond to buyer immeduately don’t exoect anything from Ebay on Facebook. They take their time although They give you deadlines.

I'm not sure eBay has the power to block your account on Facebook - only Facebook can do that. Getting 'reported' by some entity like eBay is not going to do that. I've used the site since 2004 and have been booted twice - both times with the excuse that I was not posting under my 'real name' and the demands from FB for two pieces of ID. Facebook does these ridiculous sweep-throughs periodically, so someone who has a normal account and does some business gets the boot over a 'real name' or some security check, and a crazed conspiracy theorist can spout all the misinformation they want. FB's 'reason' is supposedly security, but they get it wrong all the time. It's a garbage site and I don't blame anyone for not wanting an account on it - I've just kept my last one because I have some family members who use it and might need it for eBay*. I no longer do business on it.
*An account for that reason is minimal interaction with the site.

of course not. But it is the most recommended way of reaching out to US based customer service on here and the only way to have things straighten out. You have been here for a while so you should know where sellers refer people to have thing sorted out.

I looked at the link you provided for Facebook, but it wants a log in / password.
Is this log in / password for your Facebook account or eBay?
