Hey there! Just wanted to see if anyone was dealing with a similar problem or had in the past. It happened the first week in August and now it’s happening now, I go through 10 day stretches with no sales and barely any views at all. But outside those times I get regular sales and views climb steadily. Anyone have any ideas? It’s very odd and not just something basic like what I’m selling or whatever. I really appreciate it guys.

Howdy saltymccaw,
Yes, most of the sellers have experienced something like what you are going through. It does indeed feel like a switch get's thrown, and it's either great sales, or none at all. Most perplexing, and most likely due to some mysterious technical troubles that none of us have been made aware of. Hang in there, that's all we can do!!

I notice it happens a lot when ebay is doing site upgrades.

Happens to me every month, all the time since I started selling here in 2003.

This has been the most horrible month out of any month that I have sold on ebay..

There is never a guarantee in sales. You should always expect fluctuations regardless of where your selling your stuff. Some will come along and say it's Ebay's fault, buyers cannot see your listings, Ebay only allows you to make so much $$ a month etc., but that is definitely not true.

I hit dry spells too and then like the last couple days, a good amount of sales. I have not seen any logic to when then happens, but occasionally there are some thing that make me scratch my head.
Like a dry spell and then suddenly 3 or 4 sales from the same state. I've even seen a flurry of sales from buyers with their Ebay ID starting with the same letter. And I'm sure if I gave it more thought I could share other odd things from over the years.
But all in all I have not found any logic to any of it.
Oh, also keep in mind that the view numbers are OFTEN wrong. So don't depend on them being accurate.

Agreed with all of your points.... my views are not accurate at all either, I don't believe anyone's are frankly....
I know, but it sure can be a head scratcher sometimes.
Like a couple months ago, dead period I sold something I had not sold in a few months. Then within minutes I sold another, and then the next day another. I have not a clue why.

I always figured everyone in the world gets paid on the same 2 days of the month. And since everyone lives paycheck to paycheck, this dead period happens.

Ebay has major technical problems....
Yesterday, they had a problem with Checkout Systems. Staring in the evening of 9/19 and most of the day 9/20/19 at least a few servers were down. Both impacted me. That is 2 days in the last week that my business was damaged because of Ebay not delivering the service I am paying them for.
I got no sales yesterday. The only way I found out it was because of Ebay's technical problem is from this Community Board. Somebody else checked the System Status reports because they didn't have sales either and found out that Checkout wasn't working.
You're not going to get sales if the equipment they have you on isn't working properly.
So, as a business owner, you now know that one of your vendors is not reliable. The question is: What are you going to do about it?
During the same time that Ebay messed up my business, they were asking me to renew my annual store subscription. I didn't. I'll pay a higher monthly rate for a couple months as I assess whether Ebay is a viable marketplace any longer. The new CEO better work quickly.
