RALLY to Add an item cost input on items..

The sales record and seller hub has an excellent detailed breakdown fees of everything BUT not the cost of the item you paid.. This is critical.

I propose:

1. Add a single input field next to the Custom Label field.

2. Add this data to the sales record for a final net profit.

3. Add this data to the seller hub.

THUMBS UP IF YOU SUPPORT

P.S. My current work around is to simply add a (c35) at the end of the custom label for a $35 cost example. Then you can see this on the awaiting shipment page.

Are you talking about the cost you paid for the item when you acquired it? If so that financial transaction piece is external to the eBay selling process and something you need to keep in your own records just like all the other external selling costs like: POV, packing materials, supplies, storage.........

You've got my thumbs-up, but (a) your personal expenses are of no concern to eBay and (b) I think that your workaround is superior by orders of magnitude to anything that eBay's crack team of software engineers could devise.

Why not duplicate in Excel what eBay has provided, then customize on your desktop?

I operate a private business, I have ZERO interest in revealing to eBay what my net margins are.

If they actually knew what sort of profit level I have they could very well be inclined to raise fees (again).

If you really want this type of setup you can use third-party tools.

I put my cost for each item under "Seller notes".

This is external reporting and has nothing to do with transactions through eBay, which is what is reported. Just c/p the report into excel and add your own column.

This is critical.

Ebay has been in existence a long time. If it was critical it would have been implemented over 20 years ago.

Not critical, not general, applies primarily to sellers who buy by the piece and have no recordkeeping.

Those of us who have some experience in business, do not want or need this function. Just more private data placed at risk on the Internet.
