Hello! I have a question. eBay requires to be 18 but if you have a business bank account will this requirement be voided? Thanks just wondering because a friend of mine wants to start selling.

If someone is under 18 years old they are not allowed to use eBay for any reason.
That would include creating an account, buying, selling, or using this forum.

I believe the requirement to be 18 years old is for legal reasons, so having a business bank account would not help.

Are you even able to own a business bank account if you are under 18?

As per the user agreement of ebay no one under 18 years old can have a selling account in ebay even if he has a business bank account.

Children can't enter into legally binding contracts, so no, your "friend" can't join eBay.
Personally, I'm glad it's that way. Kids sometimes do stupid stuff, and sellers/eBay doesn't need that mess here. There is enough trouble now, with some of the "adult" sellers.

If the teenager is emancipated, yes. That should also allow them to enter into legally binding contracts.
ebay is on a sticky wicket here if they were ever challenged.

Yes, I am sure there are several millionaire minors legally doing business in the United States. In this day and age it would be hard to imagine that there aren't a handful. Examples include YouTube where some teens make millions before they turn 18. I think I just read that a three year old was making plenty per year at this point. Young musicians come to mind as well but I think most of them have their parents as managers who control their financial lives until they turn 40 ish like Britney Spears who was born on 12/2/1981.

eBay member registrations do not allow for a co-signer on an eBay account.

I can't prove it but I'm certain there's a number of times that I am having an issue with a buyer who is a minor using a parent or relative's account. Well, actually there's a few times I can prove it because I've had these buyers admit to me that they are underage and using another account.
