I recently hit the number of transaction defects that make you unable to create or use advertising campaigns and some other penalties. My question is that in my transaction defect report, all of the defects are from October 2024 to the current date. Does this mean that my transaction defect percentage will not go back down until October? Am I stuck waiting till then to get ad campaigns and the like back, or am I misunderstanding the process?
Thanks!

The defects will stay for a year, before dropping off.
How long your stuck depends on if you can get enough sales to drop the %.

OK, that makes sense, I just have to drive my transaction number up enough to drop the defect rate below 2%
Thank you

"I just have to drive my transaction number up enough to drop the defect rate below 2%"
And don't get any more defects.
Finally, with the most recent April 20 seller evaluation date, my selling ID's one defect fell off her record. I could have sworn the "defective" action happened more than one year ago, but it's gone now.
What I did wrong was to keep a bunch of GTC listings active even after rearranging <stuff> in my home. Then when one of those things sold, I could not find it anywhere. I had to cancel as out of stock. Presto: Defect.
But I learned my lesson. I'm now much more organized with the things that are actively listed on eBay.

One other question, if I have a listing that has a quantity of 5, and I sell 3 of them, does that count as 3 transactions, or just one transaction since they are all under the same listing?

If sold to one buyer, it’s 1 transaction. If sold to 3 different buyers, it’s 3 transactions.
