Question about shipping labels through ebay

Last night after the PO had aready closed I had 3 sales come through and then a 4th in the morning. I have just swapped over to using paypal to purchase shipping directly through ebay for USPS shipping and around midnight 1am I decided to get these items packaged, and the labels purchased so I could zoom through the Post office today.

What I noticed is that shipping status and tracking information updated instantly and the item was now marked as shipped. all 4 shipments were left with the post office today this afternoon. Couple of questions there.

1. will the tracking information and shipping status having been instantly updated mess with my on time shipping and delivery rates?

2. If yes to question 1, what can I do to mitigate the problem? Wait to purchase shipping? is there an option I can choose that will keep it from updating until hand it over to the PO?

No.......... if you look at tracking, after you print the label,  you will see:

The seller has provided a tracking number. The tracking status will be updated once the shipment reaches the carrier.

After you drop off the package and it's scanned, this will show:

USPS in possession of item

The first message will disappear as soon as the package is scanned in (accepted)..........and Ebay will use that date as the scanned date to determine if you are late or not...........
