Let's say I have 250 items for sale in January, but mid-January I end one of the listings and add a new one--still equalling 250 listings total. Does anyone know if I am charged .35 for that new listing? Is it 250 listings at one time and no additional .35 insertion fee, or it only the first 250 listings per month? Thank you for anyone's help!

Only the first 250 listings per month are free.

That depends @recycleyourself. On what date was the listing scheduled to renew and on what date did you end it?
Listing renewed on January 3rd and you ended it on January 15th, you're too late because the listing already renewed this month and counted against your 250 January insertions.
Listing set to renew on January 30th but you ended it on January 15th - it did not count toward your January 250 because you ended it before it renewed.
Hope that clarifies it for ya.

So appreciate it, thanks!

I should have asked the question differently earlier, but does 250 free listings per month (without .35 insertion fee) mean 250 listings *total* at any given time, or can you keep adding 250 *additional listings every month? Thank you so much EBay community. 🙂

It's total, not additional @recycleyourself.

Darn, I was hoping not. Thank you again. 🙂

Also, it's not total at any given time @recycleyourself. It's total items listed per month. So if you list something on January 1st and sell it on January 2nd, it counts as one of the 250 since you listed it during January.
You can find on your Seller Hub Overview page: https://www.ebay.com/sh/ovw
a panel labeled "promotional offers" and it will tell you how many listings used/left of the 250.
Then on your Seller Hub Active listings page: https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
You can customize the view and show the "end date" column. When you sort by that date you can tally up how many listings you have left to auto-renew that month assuming they don't sell out before they renew.
I suggest you look over this page for more info on how insertions work:

So I pay $21.95 each month...period. I can list items until they sell...forever. As many items as I desire...well, I think it stops at something like 20,000+ or whatever but anyway. No insertion fees if it is buy it now or auction. So what happens if you suddenly get a load of stuff to sell? 3 drinks in a bar in San Francisco is more than $22.00. I think the monthly subscription is so much better than worrying about nickels and dimes. Just my own opinion

I will review more thoroughly, thank you. I find EBay's policies and rules a corn maze sometimes. You've really simplified it.

So true, I understand what you're saying and am probably close to going for that soon. Thanks.

Stores come with early termination fees when you go for the annual subscription. Might want to start out with a monthly subscription for a little while to make sure a store commitment is right for you.

Sage advice, thanks!
