Hi I had a question. I have 1,000's of cards I must sell and was wondering is it worth my time to sell them for $1.00 each plus Shipping or one lot. If I sell them each I will make a lot more money than if I just sold them in one lot. I've never done Huge Listings can anyone help me if this is worth my time. Thanks

I don't sell cards, so this is an uninformed opinion.......
There are a number of posts about buyers switching cards on large lots or claiming some were not received and returning the duds...
IF none are worth much more than a $.......it might be worth the time, tho I think I'd go with a couple of hundred at a time, rather than the 1000. If the price/effort to return is not great, perhaps the chance of scammers might be less......
But if you advertise some of the lot are worth $20.......you might get stung.......

I guess I should've been more clearer in my post. I have over 30,000 cards dating back 40 years and 90% are mint and all smoke -free. My question was if I should take the 'Common Cards' worth at least $1.00 and begin to sell them one by one instead of placing them all in a lot and making about a penny each. The one concern I have is if the card sells for $1.00 BUT my shipping is $3.99 won't I actualy lose money because of the fee on the shipping?

We would split them up in several lots. Selling one at a time will make you more money but take much longer. Selling in lots will get you pretty good money and it wont take as long. Best regards

I realize that the cards are old, but in that situation, I think you are better off selling them in lots. I can't see selling one card at a time if you have so many. It would take you forever to un-load all of them. This way you could save on shipping when selling them in lot - maybe 20 or evern 50 at a time and highlighting the most valuable in the pictures.

You can ship a First Class package up to 4 ounces for $2.66, using eBay postage labels (the retail price at the PO is $3.50).
Unless you offer a good rate on combined shipping (such as only charging for the first card, and shipping for additional cards is free), buyers are unlikely to be interested in paying $4.99 for that card.
Still, the eBay and PayPal fees (30 cents plus 12.9%) would wipe out much of your balance, not to mention incidentals such as envelopes and printer ink. If you place any value at all on your time, it seems not worthwhile to list individual cards, given the effort involved in generating images, description, packaging, etc.

OP, the danger of seling ANY group of items in a lot is that the buyer will cherry pick out the good stuff and file a not described case so they can get all of them for free OR send back your lot with the good stuff replaced with unsellables.
I'd pull the good stuff to sell for value. For the rest, I recently had a garage sale and got rid of a lot of my hard to sell ebay stuff to other ebay sellers who might have better luck. Cash in hand and no future snad was my mantra for the day.

Selling any item on ebay or other platforms for $1 or $2 is NOT worth it.

First, the dishonest buyers are very much over emphasied on these boards.
From reading here I'd think that if I sold 10 lots, that I'd get 12 people wanting a return, pulling out the "good stuff" and returning the rest.
I've never received a brick, or a rock as a return. Around here you'd think there would be a shortage of bricks since they're all in the mail.
Yes, occasionally bad things happen, but it aint endemic by any stretch of the imagination.
Now, for your question. Can you make sets? At least sort them? Baseball cards from 1979? by team? You might get somewhere with that. I'd organize them a bit, so they aren't just straight up random.
Figure out how many fit in the various flat rate boxes. Sell a lot that fits in the small flat rate box and then just charge that rate for shipping.

I have always seperated my cards by their teams and will sell them as such However you all gave me a lot to think about there are too many scam buyers on here that would say as you guys mentioned about the lots. I will pick only the Best Cards for these lots so there can be no problems. I use a magnifying glass to go over each card and my photos are very clear so there should be no problem from any buyer. I decided to list them in lots of 20 because they seem to sell faster per recent auctions that have ended. Thanks everyone for you help and Continued Success on here

One more time....
Buy-uh-scammers will lie.
If you pick the best cards for your lots, then you will get back all their cards they are using to upgrade with yours and you will not get anything from your original lot back. ebay will not back you no matter how good your description is.
Sell the good ones individually and dump anything that you can't sell for more than the cost you are charging for shipping. Buyers don't like to pay more for shipping a common dollar item to them. Charge $4.99 with free shipping - if the card looks too high priced for that price, then dump it.

Careful selling low end on ebay. I recently bought two CD's and both sellers sold them for less than the postage costs. I thought they would put them in 50 cent envelopes, but was surprised when both arrived with first class tracking. Makes no sense at all to sell that way, costing the seller money coming out in the negative and a total time waster.

If your own time has no value to you...list singles.

Quick Question. If I sell an item for $1.00 and the shipping cost is $4.00 how much in Total fees does Ebay take?
