Promotions Manager requirements/restrictions

I'm having trouble finding an official eBay detailed outline of the new Promotions Manager requirements/restrictions. Can anyone help?

Promotions Manager requirements/restrictions

Ok, so am I to assume from the non-response to this post that no one knows where to find the new policy on eBay's site indicating the changes to the Manage Promotions feature? All I can find is an incomplete, somewhat confusing "update" post for Markdown Manager from an eBay rep here on the community forum. Doesn't give me the whole policy, though. Doesn't even provide a link to a page on the site explaining the new policy. A little help please? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there's no one place that neatly spells it out.  Basically:

A new or relisted listing ......has to wait at the listed price for 14 days.... if you change the price, the 14 days starts over from that point.  I believe there are other things that can be changed but don't know what they are

There is no way to tell which of your items are eligible for the sale, so  you have to choose the ones you want.....and have a long sale time and as the ones you've chosen are eligible, they will be added.  When items end and are relisted the 14 days starts over again.

If you use GTC......you still have to wait the 14 days on a new listing.. but then, as long as the sale is on, they will be part of it, even tho they rollover......assuming you do not edit them........  Conceivably once the sale is on, they could run on sale forever.........

If you are asking about seller requirements......I don't know off hand.......perhaps someone else can expound on that. There are some pretty explicit instructions in the help files.......how much of it still pertains, I haven't studied.

Thank you, dhbooksds. Did you see the update that eBay sent out on July 4th? It's near the top of the forum page called Marketing Manager Update. There they say that it's been changed from 14 days to 7 days, but I guess that's my point. It seems like nobody knows what this new policy entails. And I don't find any of the info I've seen on it very clear. Very frustrating, wouldn't you agree?

Here's what I'm seeing in that announcement:

n the 2018 Summer Seller Update, we announced new changes to requirements for creating a markdown sale event that went into effect on June 25, 2018. We listened to your feedback and have made a change to these markdown sale requirements. Sellers can now add items to a markdown sale event even if the listing was previously in another sale event within the past 14 days as long as the listing price has not been changed.

Nothing about 7 days.  This wasn't the clearest explanation.  I think mine is right...but could be wrong......

Oh, yes, you're right. I must've seen something else somewhere about it changing to 7 days. But I don't know where now, so I have nothing to back that up. Even with the message from eBay you posted above, you're right, it could be clearer. So does it mean that new items listed still cannot be added to a sale for 14 days, but current listings that have been in your store for at least 14 days but that haven't had a price change can be added to a new sale immediately after being in a sale that has just ended? It doesn't actually say that, but it's kind of implied, at least how I'm reading it. And that's the issue I take with all of this. If eBay is changing the rules, spell it out for us, so we can handle our business accordingly.

Ok, so I found the post on the eBay community forum where someone claims that eBay's policy on the 14 day wait was changed to 7 days.  https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/The-latest-modification-to-the-Markdown-Manager/m-p/28717727

You'll notice I commented and asked for more info, but have not seen a response yet. So it's obvious there is plenty of confusion over this new policy, and eBay needs to clear this up or just go back to the way it was before the changes. Why create a new policy and then make it so difficult for users to find a complete description of the policy? Just seems dubious to me.
