my guess is that the promotion started earlier, but since you just opened it on the last day, it says that.

It was likely a weekend promotion that started Friday and ended Monday, but if you activate it on Monday, it will say that,

I noticed the promotion through the seller hub.  It is a three-day promotion from 9/1 to 9/3. I didn't receive any messages from eBay about the promotion, so I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't checked the seller hub two days ago...

On myebay page for me it shows as starting 8/29 and ending 9/3. (not activated by me)
