Promoting and Discounting.

I have been selling on eBay as a store owner since 2004.  I have seen it change from a "sell what's in my garage" to a marketplace for massive size sellers.   Ill save my rant for how eBay has gone from being a small business friendly marketplace to being infiltrated by million dollar companies that would love all of us to go out of business.

My true intension on this conversation is how are most of you promoting your listing and what is working the best.   Are you sponsoring your listings?  Are you setting your price at the best price you have?  Are you listing the price at what would be a market price and then offering a discount to get the price down to what you want to sell it for?

I am in a flooded ebay market but I still have some of the best pricing.  I cannot figure out why I cannot get the sell OR how do I reach more people.  The other thing that has crossed my mind is are people paying more for a seller that has thousands of feedback and a thousands of items even though they are not all related products vs a smaller company that only sells similar products.

Raise your prices 25% and promote at the suggested rate PLUS 2% (and that suggested rate is probably going to be around 16%).  Price (within reason) doesn't seem to matter near as much as just being seen.
End 10 old listings per day and re-start them by "sell similar".
Sign Out of your account and then go through some of your listings daily and just click on them, open them, close them..move on to the next.
And send offers once a week.
