Promoting Similar Items on eBay Pages and Emails

I was going to turn off the promote similar items so that other peeps items stopped showing on my listings and for the life of me, I cannot find that option anymore. I'm either blind as a bat, lost and confused or I missed an update on this. Maybe I am just old and senial and all of the above.

Anyone want to point me in the right direction or is the option actually no longer available to opt out of?

Hi, I think if you go into Seller Preferences there is a place to do that. Haven't looked there in a while but since day one I don't have all of that stuff on my listings and I know I checked something in preferences to do that long ago. But not sure. Maybe someone else will come here and explain better.

Hey, read what he wrotes :  " I cannot find that option anymore." That means this option  doesn't appear anymore !!

Well I think I found it, it says it has been moved to Marketing tools.
In marketing , when I go to Promoted items, I get this:
"This service is currently unavailable for your account. Become an eBay Store subscriber in your local market or, if you're a US seller, be a Top Rated Seller in the US in order to access the Promoted Listings dashboard"
Because I am not a "Store" or Top Rated. 😞

But also this only applies to promoting your own items, not about other seller's in your items...

I don`t want to be a downer but there is no setting that will keep ebay from showing other seller`s items on your pages. As far as I can tell, when ebay came out with the new store format they did away with "promote similar items". That`s what it says in the Summer seller update if I`m reading it correctly: look under ebay stores:  https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2018-summer/ebay-stores.html

When I first setup as a seller in April of 2019, I was able to access Marketing Tools. I had turned off this preference. Not a week later, I started receiving errors when trying to access it. Other ads started to invade my ads. I know full well that if people can buy something five cents cheaper they will. I called eBay and went round and round. The CSR even put in a trouble ticket. I just called a few minutes ago, and found out exactly what it say in the above response. NO MORE functionality in Promoting Similar Items! That totally blows!!
