Promoted listings , it would go a long way, eBay, if only you would only ....

I don't care too much that eBay clutters the item view page with promoted listings.  What irks me is that eBay doesn't even cross promote my own promoted listings on either the active and sold items pages.

I recently sold a small lot of necklaces. I have other, very similar necklace lots still active. All of which I pay to promote.

Yet only one of the 50 promoted listings with a picture immediately visible on the page were mine! And this one photo was in the second to last row, and with no special designation as being "more from the same seller."

THIS IS INEFFECTIVE PROMOTION.

I often search sold listings and want to see other listings from the SAME seller, but eBay requires that I make several additional clicks off page to see them. Because the same seller's items are not there, I rarely  click any photos elsewhere on the listing page. Instead, if I want to see more from other sellers, I click back to search results.

Fact is, any additional eBay page views that result from a click on a sold item listing are fundamentally due to the seller of that item. eBay is nit picking about the secondary benefits of promoted listing clicks, well, it should be sharing this secondary benefit with the seller.

eBay would benefit both buyers and sellers by redirecting at least one line of this clutter -- the first line -- back to the same seller as in "more from the same seller" and it should do so regardless of whether the seller's other items are promoted or not.

By the way, eBay, I had a great selling weekend.  Thank you. I only wish sales translated into "momentum."
