I have a listing with a price tag of $2500, ebay has offered a 6.6% promotional fee. It is a unique item. I am considering the promotion, however, I would like to know if I were to lower the price at a later time, if it doesn't sell, do I have to pay the promotional rate at 2500 or does it adjust to whatever the selling price is? Thanks.

The promotional rate adjusts to the selling price.

if your listing have been sold after you decreased the price, you will pay the promotional rate on the new sale price.

It does adjust, as others have said.  But keep in mind that PL's will apply for 30 days after the first click into the page.  Also, not sure if you know, but PL's typically are the most help for items that have a lot of competition.  Good luck!

And just so you know what you are getting into, you will be paying close to 20% of the entire sale, which will likely be around $2700 after taxes and shipping.

I think your fees would be discounted after $2500, but that would still put your end fees at very close to, or even over $500 - WOW!

Like @simply-the-best-for-you   indicated below, you really shouldn't need to promote high demand items, or unique items with a buyer base - save your money - 13+% of a $2500 sale is too much as it is...
