Looking for some info. Just wondering what the difference between the "promoted listing views" under the traffic tab vs the "clicks" in promoted listing campaign? should they be the same?

The promoted views and clicks will reconcile, but you have to select the correct campaign representing a congruent timeframe.

Problem is the numbers just dont add up, even over time. There is a huge gap between the two. The promoted views under the traffic tab are always much more than the "clicks" under the promoted campaign tab. they don't reconcile over time, not at all.

@selsa84 there are a couple things I can think of off the bat that may be happening here.
First - what time frame do you have the reports set to?
If they are set to anything more than 14 days, the new ads dashboard consolidates some info, combing multiple days together, where the traffic report keeps it split out to individual days.
If you set it to 31 days, the data is consolidated to every other day and 90 days condenses it to a weekly stat.
So for example, this chart says this stat is for September 17, with the next date on the chart being September 19 - but what's really happening is the number shown for the 17th is actually the total for the 17th-18th, the one labeled Sep 15 is actually the total for 15th-16th, etc - hope that makes sense.
So if you have it set on that timeframe, those numbers that are two days added together, won't match the individual daily numbers in the traffic report for the same time frame - you'd have to manually add the right days together to see if they match.
Another thing that could be happening is differences in where eBay shows external Promoted Listings in each report - importantly this would be Promoted Listings Standard/General ads that are opted in to external placements not ones using a Promoted Offsite campaign.
In the Traffic report, Promoted Listings views only count on eBay PL and PL views from outside eBay are counted as external site views.
But in the ads dashboard reports, they only separate out views that are in Promoted Offsite campaigns - Promoted Standard/General external views would be combined with on site views under Promoted Listings.
I'm sure there are other explanations for why these reports may not match up just because they don't necessarily measure the same things in the same way....and then of course there's always the possibility eBay stats just can't be trusted either due to technical misexecution or intentional obfuscation.

Views are the times your listings appeared in front of someone. Clicks are the number of times someone responded to a view and entered one of your listing pages.

@ethylsgarage that is incorrect.
Per eBay's definitions impressions are when your listing appears on eBay and the buyer is one click away from your listing, page views are visits to the listing.
Definitions from Traffic Report:
Impressions: The total of all impressions, including organic impressions and impressions via Promoted Listings, during this time period. An impression counts when a link to your listing appears on eBay, and the buyer is one click away from your listing.
Page Views: The total number of visits to your listings during this time period. It includes visits via Promoted Listings, organic listings on eBay, and from external sites, including search engines.
Definitions from Advertising Dashboard:
Clicks: The number of interactions with your ads

Nope. Wrong. A view is when someone clicks on ur listing. When an it appears on a page that's an impression, when they click on it it's a view

Thank you, I just can't figure out why the numbers won't match up. I did the twitter eBay thing last week or so asking how it seems odd that my organic views were always much higher than promoted views but yet every sale is promoted since they rolled out the new campaign layout and did away with the transparency. Since that eBay Twitter day my promoted have shot way past my organic views. Seems kinda sketchy
