Have read thru this a couple of times.
Will this mean that PLs as we know them now will essentially be worthless/not effective?
A little concerning as we use PLs quite a bit currently. Not certain our budget can work for the PL Advanced or that I have a "daily" budget for PL Advanced?
Thoughts?
How Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA works
Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA is based on a cost-per-click model. You start by deciding how much each keyword and click is worth to you. With this new type of campaign, you’ll be able to:

Review your campaign after you complete these steps.
Top tips
You can also use both Promoted Listings Standard and Advanced together to help achieve maximum visibility for your ad placements across the eBay network, and utilize both budget approaches for your ad spend.
Coming later this month—Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA
Starting at the end of this month, Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA will be available to all eligible Promoted Listings sellers. If you’re eligible, you’ll be able to opt in to Promoted Listings AdvancedBETA to start bidding for the highly coveted top spot in the search results, as soon as it’s accessible.
All existing Promoted Listings campaigns will automatically be renamed Promoted Listings Standard campaigns, without you having to do anything. The only changes will be to the name and attribution logic.

Ok this is my thoughts about this new Promoted Listings Advanced Beta
eBay want to squeeze more money out of our very thin profits
This is what my numbers are looking for
Average sold for 20.62
Average eBay fees 2.65
Average Promoted Fees 2.19
Average Shipping Fee 9.48
Net 7.22 and my item cost is 6
So on top of they already suggesting a 10% out of your total sales inlcluding taxes and everything they want to take more money out of your sales. Really eBay?
Between greedy Freight companies and greedy eBay they're killing our business

yeah, but Advanced will charge you a fee per click...so your profit = negative ??? depends on how many clicks your charged for. Advanced is only for large sellers or sellers with large quantities of something

I tried Advanced once when they started and they were double tapping me with Promoted listing fee and Pay per click. If I'm already promoting a product with even their suggested % why I have to now do PPP

Thank you for your easy-to-understand definition about how and why ebay implemented the PL. As a long time member, I am so disappointed and don't know how much longer I can survive on ebay as a seller. It's obvious to me that ebay is catering to sellers with higher incomes. I'm on fixed budget, senior citizen, and very disappointed and disgusted. Rejoice ebay! You are making more money by eliminating seniors and those who can't afford your "Promoted Listing" fees!

Just a footnote to my post! A few days ago I listed 4 popular Christmas items. As of now, they have Zero views. Of course not, they are not "Promoted Listings".

@sandroj65 i'm no specialist on PLA but the reason they did it is as obvious as anything, it's easy money for them, once seller creates a PLA they are "locked" to the agreement, even if you end the PLA campaign, your still locked to pay for the time you set the campaign for - only way I know to end it with charges is to end the listings themselves...may (or may not) save seller from the charges.
I don't think so... meaning ebay is targeting ALL sellers with PLA promotion campaigns, large to small to even the seldom once in blue moon seller. They don't care what size seller you are and they won't not suggest it even if PLA isn't for the seller in question, they will gladly charge anyone for it. When it comes to PLs they are the worst in terms of transparency etc... yeah, sure, you can increase sales with PLA, but you can also loose more then you make, if your seller with high inventories on particular items PLA's maybe just what you can use, but if you don't sell like that I wouldn't even try it for items you have a "few" of or only one.
They may not see it now, even though the platform has lost tons of sellers due to their changes over the past 1-2 years...but eventually, the PLA push will end many many many more sellers to come. All IMO of course, but whatever.
