Promoted Listing now Showing in your store.

It has come to my attention that listings that are promoted listings are now appearing in your store.  You will see the store listing saying "SPONSORED"

I called eBay and they agreed promoted listing do appear in your store.

All the discussions and info suggest the promoted listings is to boost your listing within a search result.

THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE HELP SECTION

Where will my Promoted Listings ad appear?

Promoted Listings will appear in prominent placements across the eBay network, including the search results page and related items section. Listings will only be promoted on the eBay network sites of the country you listed in, even if they feature international shipping.

Repeat customers come to my store to buy additional items.  If they buy a sponsored item they find in my store (Not from a search result) the promotion listing  fee is charged.  This is totally not fair.  eBay did not earn that fee.  If a customer is in my store there are no competing products and they did not elevate my item in the search ranking.    How can they justify their fee in this case??  It is not very transparent.

ebay has said in a similar thread that this is an intermittent bug and they are working on fixing it.

Really? That makes me feel better... because in no way is there any value being created paying for a sponsored listing in your store!!

If a bug, why are these never in the seller's favor?

They fix the bugs working in the seller's favor immediately of course.  The ones working in eBay's favor have a far lower priority.

I work on the eBay Ads team, and we had identified an intermittent bug that was causing this issue. Our team has since resolved the issue and you should no longer be seeing any promoted listings in your store. We are currently working to understand if there were any fees incurred as a result of this issue and will make any corrections as needed. 

We will circle back again when and if we have any additional information or insights to share on this topic. Thanks!

Thanks for help with this issue.  In no way did it seem far that promoted listing were in the store environment.  Glad to hear it was an glitch.  Most importantly it is fix now... thanks fir the reply

Hi @metalclm, 

Any fees attributed to listings appearing on your own store pages have been credited back to you. Those credits will appear on your account dated between July 8, 2021 and August 9, 2021 with the memo: Promoted Listings in Stores fee credit.
