Promote it!

Is it a coincidence that ever since eBay started this "Promote it" program that my "views" are down about 80%? Before they introduced "promote it" I used to average at least 10 views per listing in a 10 day period. Now I'm averaging less than 2 views per listing, with some items getting no views in 10 days. This all seemed to start when eBay started pushing to "Promote your item". Is there any connection between the number of views, if promoted or not? Or has the number of people looking for items on eBay dropped so drastically that nobody is looking anymore? About ready to call it quits with eBay!!

Ebay has changed the way they report views.

Old way: They reported bot views and human views.

New way: They only report human views.

So it seems like your views went down but they haven't.

Not sure about the timing, coincidence or not.

It's a coincidence in the sense that eBay changed how views are counted and presented to sellers around the same time that they rolled out the promote it campaign. 

Or has the number of people looking for items on eBay dropped so drastically that nobody is looking anymore? 

IMHO the drop in reported views is due in large part to two factors - eBay is only counting views that happened in the past 30 days, and (b) eBay is attempting to exclude views by web crawlers and other non-human "bots" from being counted.
