I don't know what to call it, but you know that little window that pops up now when you're looking at a store listing. It's not the full listing, it's like a "preview" or "sub-listing" it just shows the basic info, title, photo, buttons for buy, add to cart and "see all details" or something to that effect.
I keep getting questions for info that is in the description. I was puzzled at the uptick in this trend, now I know why. When you hover over the title of the listing on that window, nothing happens, you can't click on it. All these years we've been trained to do what when we want to see more information about an item?
CLICK ON THE TITLE!
No, you have to click on the button at the bottom that says "more info" or something like that. People aren't clicking on that. They're trying to click on the title and nothing happens, then they ask questions about the item that they could have read in the description that they can't see.
My question is this. Why can't the title be a hyper link to the full listing too?
I understand you want a certain look, I know there's a button at the bottom of this "preview listing" window... But you've trained us for decades to CLICK ON THE TITLE for more information.
Can't you have both work? Can't the button and the title lead to the same place? What harm is there in having the title be clickable as well??
Again, with the ridiculous changes, "doors to nowhere". Why the need for the "preview window" in the first place? Why can't they just go to the full listing when they click on it anyway? In my opinion these little annoying changes are just making buyers frustrated. They want info. GIVE THEM INFO! Stop with the multiple click processes! We don't need sub windows and sub sub windows! Just get them to the LISTING!!

@movieman630Thanks for pointing this out. I usually follow links from doing a search, so I've not run across trying to access a listing using a sellers store link. How bizarre! I just clicked on your store, selected an item, and after several unsuccessful attempts, saw the "See all details" option.

It's just so unnecessary. I'm a pretty smart guy but it took me a bit to figure out how to access the full listing. We just aren't trained to look at buttons on ebay. It's always been "click on the title".

I was never trained to hover. Therefore I know to click the button.
The coder who did the preview probably was not trained to hover either.
There will be even less continuity when AI written code is the norm.

Agreed, it's definitely sub-optimal. Our items in particular are pretty much always used, or even if they're sealed they need some inspection by the buyer of the condition. Having them just see the main photo and no description is not good for our cancellation and return rates, even though I can't say they've been abnormal. I don't have any clue how often people are seeing that view to know how often it matters, but it's not a good view.
