Hi! I recently sold a high value item and the buyer paid however their PayPal address is unconfirmed and when I try to purchase/print the label with PayPal I get a red pop up telling me to check the address?
I googled the the address and its a building for lease?
is there anyway I can cancel the transaction without getting a defect? I’ll refund the buyer through PayPal however I’m not sure how to go about getting my final value fees back.
edit: buyer messaged me asking to ship to a different address when I messaged them about the issue with printing the label, since that voids seller protection I’m really not comfortable selling to this buyer, should I call eBay?

Yes of course! the package would be insured and sent with signature confirmation (actually want to try to change it to restricted signature confirmation at the post office because I just saw there was no option on the PayPal page )

Ebay has a multitude of issues going on right now. Let's try it from a different direction.
Go to your My Ebay or Seller Hub, whichever you use. In your orders waiting to ship, find this transaction.
On that line item in your orders waiting to ship there should be some words in blue like Print Shipping label that has an arrow just to the right which denotes there is a drop down menu. Hover over that so the drop down menu appears.
One of the items on that list is Cancel Order. Click on that and see if it will work going at it from this direction. Sometimes it makes all the difference to just try it from a different place.
If you still have a problem, just let me know. I am happy to help you as much as you need my assistance for. Ask anything and everything you need to without feeling badly for it. It is just not a problem.

If the buyer is that pushy on a high value item I would begin to suspect fraud and would consider adding them to my blocked buyers list, but that's up to you.

You can get a free account on PirateShip.com and purchase the label there for the same price (unless your are TRS) and they will let you set restricted signature at the time you purchase the label. The PO isn't going to let you add it at the counter on an online label. If you link your eBay account and PirateShip will pull all the order details and push the tracking back automagically.

OH NO. While in some cases I suppose using another method of shipment would be just fine if you are willing to give up Seller Protection with PayPal. But in this case it seem rather clear by the buyer being so pushy that they are trying to do something wrong. The actual shipping of this package isn't at issue. It is shipping to an address not on the PP payment notification. To do that is to give up Seller Protection with PayPal.
Ebay on the other hand is find if you have an email from the buyer in the Ebay system requesting the change in address. But PP does not accept that. They are strict to stay with the address on the payment notification.

You’re so helpful! Thank you so much! I would really be so confused if it wasn’t for you
I went on both my eBay and seller hub but it leads me back to the error page? I even tried from my iPad and Mac, same issue.
Should I wait a few hours and try again? Or contact eBay?

Again, you are very welcome. It is no problem at all.
Normally I would just say wait a bit and then try again. But Ebay really has their hands full right now with a whole lot of site problems. You should really call since you have a buyer that appears to be pretty problematic. I wouldn't take the risk to wait much longer.
Below is a link. That will take you to the page where you can call Ebay. If you get the option to let Ebay call you, I have found that to be very useful. I've always gotten a call back in well under 5 minutes and a pretty good CSR [customer service rep] too.
Let me know how it goes.

Yes! At this point after the cancellation goes through I will add them to my blocked bidder list since they contacted me via my email too , they keep pushing me to ship the item to the other address And are becoming really hostile all of a sudden
I don’t understand though, they have really good feedback and left others good feedback as well so I don’t know why they’re trying to be so pushy with me.

Just drop to the bottom of that page in the link. You will see the options to call or have them call you.

Keep a couple things in mind. Buyer can only get positive FB and they may have pirated the account. Trying to get you to ship before they are discovered.

I’ll definitely wait a little bit and try again! You’re right it seems like there’s an issue with eBay right now, I had a problem with searching for items and with seeing my watch list etc
If it still doesn’t work then I’ll call eBay because now this buyer is sending messages to my email since I’ve been ignoring their messages on here.

I wouldn't recommend waiting until tomorrow. You may want to consider calling them before they close for the evening.

I called eBay but they said they were experiencing technical difficulties as well?
is there something going on with eBay?
11-04-2019 07:36 PM
I ended up getting through to eBay and they helped me cancel the transaction because there was a problem with the buyers address, the transaction was canceled and the buyer was refunded and I messaged them explaining the situation.
i haven’t heard back from them yet but is my account going to be okay? I’ve heard of sellers getting defects and I have scheduled the bag to be relisted tomorrow!

Yes. Unfortunately Ebay is having all kinds of issues.
Listen, I'm going to tag this thread and see if one of the Chat guys can help you get this transaction cancelled tomorrow. Just in case you can't get it done between now and then. Keep trying though. The problem could clear up at any time.

Nope, you are just fine. No defects for you.
Do you mean you scheduled the listing to post tomorrow?
