Problem with buyer and unable to file unpaid item

Two weeks ago I had a cut glass bowl listed.  It received a bid but the bidder sent me a message that she wanted to retract her bid.  I was being nice and when ahead and cancelled the bid indicating that it was at the request of the bidder.  I relisted the item at a lower price and this same person ended up winning the bid.  The auction closed on Sunday.  As of this morning I had not received payment so I sent an invoice.  This afternoon I tried to file an unpaid item claim and it only gives me the option of cancelling the sale?  Is that correct?

Re: Problem with buyer and unable to file unpaid item

You have to wait 4 days on the 5 cancel for non payment (Thursday). You were trying to cancel too soon. On the same day add that buyer to your block list.

Re: Problem with buyer and unable to file unpaid item

EBay now calls Unpaid Item Disputes  cancellations.

Because using the same name as a polite agreement between buyer and seller that the transaction should not go forward, with no blowback to either party, is exactly the same as  a deadbeat getting a Strike which restricts their ability to buy in future and being unable to leave feedback plus ending up on the Blocked Bidder Lists of millions of sellers.

I remember when words meant things.

'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less. '

Har! I remember using that exact quote in a debate with Trinton, who was insisting that users were "opted in" to that old WebInterpret fiasco, despite people pointing out that it's pretty hard to "opt in" to something they'd never heard of (or even were adamantly opposed to):

(Trinton left eBay some time back, so his posts have now been relabeled as "Anonymous")

This went back and forth for some time, with him not giving an inch, until finally he said he wasn't going to debate it any more. 🙂
