Problem buyer

I sold computer but with wrong keyboard and mouse as pictured

Full refund was issued before I got the item back

Buyer will not return item

Ebay said to bad and closed case

I am out $1,179.00

I think this is crazy policy

What can I do now?

Never refund before receiving an item back. eBay can't do anything for you on this one, neither can PayPal.

- Call the customer's jurisdiction and file a police report.
- File a postal fraud report with the USPS Inspector General's Office
- File an IC3 case with the FBI if the buyer is across state lines
- Contact a lawyer in the customer's jurisdiction and file a civil case against the buyer - ensure that you sue for an amount that's going to cover your lawyer's fees and travel expenses. The lawyer will probably start off by sending a demand letter, which may be enough to scare the buyer into settling and sending the item back.
- Re-invoice the buyer for the unpaid merchandise. After 90 days with non-payment, contact the credit bureaus and submit the unpaid debt to their credit report. Alternatively, pay someone to do it for you.

"I think this is crazy policy" This is not a policy. The protocol wasn't followed. Not crazy, same as if you had a garage sale; buyer drives away with computer purchase, returns later saying it has the wrong keyboard and mouse... they would like a full refund. Do you say OK and give a full refund before the buyer gives the computer back?

We wish people would act honest and ethical. many don't. The buyer has taken advantage of your mistake.
