Private listing feature cannot be turned off

I can't turn off the feature that hides feedback.  It is a GTC listing and the checkbox is inactivated.  Why is this?

There are many types of revisions that aren't possible if a listing has an active offer or counteroffer.

Is it a multi-quantity item that has past sales, or an item with an offer or with watchers? 

Private listings benefit both sellers and buyers, so if I a buyer was led to believe it would be anonymous I can see why eBay might not let you retroactively change that. 

I would simply end and relist.
