Hi . Im fairly new to eBay selling . Im struggling with pricing...Seems all the offers I get are 1/3 to 1/2 off my listing price....I try to price competitively . but if offers are 1/3 to 1/2 off . I have to raise my listing price to leave more room for the negotiation...but if you bump up price too high you never get offers. While I appreciate that everyone has their own pricing strategy whoever is willing to share how they think thru the asking price (beyond what competition is asking) would be great . Thanks for your input and hope this discussion will help us all😕

Your prices are fine and if the offer is too cheap, just decline and move on. I didn't see anything I though was over priced.

I see 3 listings for a Yilin clutch purse, two make no mention of the brand name, and all seem to use the same picture. Do you have 3 of them?

I find this to be a struggle too. I try to be competitive, but for what I'm paying for the item then add in the cot of postage because I mainly do "Free Shipping", to get even a small profit, I try to price the lowest I can. It just seems there are always so many others who can price lower. It is frustrating, but I can trying!

We search 'completed listing' on ebay to get actual sell prices, taking into account feedback, shipping, photos and more. If none on ebay we might look elsewhere online. If no sell prices available we'll look at asking prices.
A lot of the items we sell are one of a kind without any real comparables (this is frustrating because ebay doesn't believe in non comparables so they often mix our rare stuff up with common junk).
But when hard to price, we use the auction format, priced a little lower than our value guess. Hopes are that knowledgeable buyers will bid it up.
And yes, we do boost our prices up when we accept offers. Often, people will pay the higher price out of convenience. When we get lowball offers, we decline or counter with what we want, or higher.
Here's a secret (shhhh), we counter at a higher price than we would accept when we get a lowball offer. This is to cover the time and hassle lowballs cause.

Hi, You can sign up for free on liveauctioneers.com for auction sold pricing on many different items. After you sign up just go to sold items and look up item in search. You will see sold pricing and dates to give you an idea as to pricing at auctions. It is a starting point for pricing. I find it very helpful. It depends on what you are pricing but you may be surprised as to the spectrum of items that are on there. Hope this helps.

Here is my strategy. When I purchase something at Ebay, I am looking for a deal. I like it when sellers have Make an Offer on their listings. I figure if I like to make a bargain other buyers do as well. I don´t lowball the seller. I usually make offers about 2.00 less because I figure that that is good reasonable offer. With make an offer it helps your items sell faster in my opinion.
As a seller I price items depending on the item.
Buy it now prices - some are set at a firm price, no offers because based on past experience with the items I know they will sell at that price.
Some other items I set a few dollars more than I want. Then in the boxes that you check for minimum bid I put the lowest price I will accept and if someone wants a little bargain they can make an offer and if they meet the minimum price the computer automatically gives it to them. I don´t have to deal with low ball offers that way.
For auctions I put the lowest price I will accept and anything else it might get bid up to is gravy. Depending on the item I put a buy it now price or leave it blank. Most of the items that I have on auction are due to the 100 free auction promotions I receive and I am taking advantage of the free insertions to save the cost of listing fees. I do not ever put a make offer on auctions. In my experience what I sell are not items that people want to wait to the end of an auction for. That is why it put a buy it now price because if they do not want to wait they get get it right away.
I don´t sell a huge amount of items here so I guess you would call me a hobby seller. I enjoy it because most of what I sell pertains to crafts. I love to make things and getting my hands of crafting items is like finding treasure to me.
