I had an international buyer that purchased an item. The listing said US sales only. The buyer does not want the item, because the shipping charges are so high. They really did not understand just how expensive international shipping can be. I believe that they made an honest mistake. I do not want to leave negative feedback for them or report them as not paying.
The buyer and seller (me) want to cancel the order. From what I read, the buyer only has an hour to request an order to be cancelled. The seller (me) has up to 30 days, but it seems that this could negatively impact my seller rating. It's been about 10 days, so I do not think that the buyer can request a cancellation.
What is the best way to end this transaction, so my my seller rating and the buyer's feedback are not affected?

When you cancel the sale select problem with buyers address. Your FVFs will instantly be refunded and you can relist...

As long as you have a message from the buyer asking for the cancellation, you're golden.
When you go to Cancel, Buyer Requested is an option.

You CANT leave them negative feedback. Its against the rules and will be removed if you do.
