I noticed today as I was browsing our "My eBay > Account" page, that there was a flag on the Powerseller Level bar, saying that that our Powerseller level dropped. Previously I believe we were titanium (or at least platinum), and now we are silver?
I called in about this and the first rep I spoke to said it seems the "global" sales are is not calculating properly, and that our amount of transactions meet the "Gold" requirement.
After getting off the phone, I read through the page again, and I noticed that it mentions you can reach the powerlevel if you have the amount of sales OR the amount of transactions. Our transaction amount meets Gold, but our sales amount should be even higher than gold.
So I called back again, and the new rep I spoke to said that the reason the seller level dropped is because "Global sales no longer include domestic sales"???
I asked if this was a recent change, and he said yes, and that is why the drop happened suddenly this month. So I searched to see if information regarding this was in any of the Summer Update notes I could find, and I could not find anything...?
I even googled "eBay powerseller update" within the last year, and no results from any of the updates mentioning powerseller at all? I checked every page on here - https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2018-summer/index.html - no mention of powerseller?
So right now I'm getting conflicting information from eBay, I'm not sure if this is an intended change that hit all stores, or a bug that is affecting all stores, or a bug that is affecting us specifically?
It would not make much sense to me if powerlevel was only an indicator of how many sales you make out of the US... but stranger things have happened on eBay?
Can anyone clarify? Is this affecting you as well? Did you powerseller level drop? Are global sales no longer including domestic sales?
If this was an intentional change, I'm wondering why it was not included in the update notes....?

Why do you care what Powerseller level you are at?

Searched this Board for global sales do not meet and found many threads on this. Here are just a few:

Zamo, I went into the Seller level and everything is screwed up. The figures of # of sales and total sales in $ is completely whacked. Just a month ago, they were telling me my global numbers were bad when I was above standard in everything. I think it's just constant hacking from ex-employees who left back doors open to create havoc. Their goal, I think, is to take eBay down totally. It's a shame because it's not the whole site that needs to be gone.

3/4 the ones you linked are about top rated, and not powerseller.
The first one is the one related to powerseller, and it seems the conclusion at the end of the thread is it is a glitch...?
Never any official response on this?
When you look at your stores powerseller level, does the global section include domestic?
Are you getting the message about dropping, when your statistics did not actually drop?

I'm a little surprised, like the others, that Powerseller status still exists.
I thought TRS replaced it some years ago.
For TRS, I hold Global TRS , which gives me a badge no one looks at on all non-US sites, but none on the dotCOM /USA site.
We Global TRS do not have to meet the same tracking standards as US TRS, possibly because in a fit of common sense, eBay noticed that the USPS has very cheap tracking.
The cheapest domestic tracking I can get in Canada would be using Regular Parcel shipping.
A 200gr untracked Oversize Letter would cost me$2.95 to send anywhere in Canada, even Iqaluit NU*. Tracked Regular Parcel would cost about $12.00.
And internationally tracked , like to the USA that parcel is even more expensive ($5.15/ $17.90). Overseas? $10.30/ $46.39.
Global TRS gets the same discounts as US TRS.
Which is the important part, eh?
We don't need no stinkin' badges. - misquoted from Treasure of the Sierra Madre

So sorry, it may be that the issue affects more TRS than Powersellers. You could check out the other threads as there were more. Good Luck to you.
From my reading, I recall that they separated domestic sales from global sales about a year ago, IIRC, and that seemed to generate concern over this.

True enough ... I would ignore your PS level for a month and check on it towards the end of September ... if things are still selling that's the important thing and everything else will take care of itself ...

It basically did. Powerseller has been slowly phased out with the introduction of the Top Rated program. Powerseller no longer means anything except that buyer have to wait 7 days to leave neg feedback and that doesn't matter what level PS you are.

Yeah, idk the difference of Powerseller vs Top Rated... just very strange that we have the flag indicating a drop this month, and I recall seeing it higher recently.
I wanted to make sure we're not the only ones. The phone rep could not seem to confirm.

Strange if that is the case, because the flag mentioning the drop this month is appearing: https://www.screencast.com/t/GouopnGy

Not so strange; you may not have had a drop before this, so it is only showing up now. Threads have been appearing on this for some time.

The question this still raises is, if this is intended & has been happening to other sellers as much as a year ago, why is this only affecting us now?
Hard to say if Powerseller actually is weighted in to visibility anymore. The first rep said it has a minor amount of weight while most of the weight comes from TRS.
But the other rep basically denied what the first rep said...
To be honest, neither of them can really be sure what is rewarded most in search... if it actually does have any weight in search, it is definitely an issue if some sellers are being lowered now, and some others might not be dropping for another year.

Those linked threads are about seller status (top rated, above standard, etc.) changing based on region. This went into effect August 1, 2017. Those with a higher volume of sales maintained their global TRS status longer than those with a low volume of sales. eBay used to count all sales towards your status in all regions and now they count sales regionally.

Because it didn't. It didn't automatically affect anyone when it first rolled out~just like not every seller goes to Below Standard, ever. If your sales did not warrant the downgrade, then it didn't get downgraded.

Some others sellers may never drop. Again, it' s not something that will automatically affect all sellers at the same time, or even at all.
