Just heard today from my postmaster that a filing was to be sumitted today for a rate increas of one cent on letter rate, no increase for second ounce, 5 added cents to each flat rate package. Could have been lots worse. Don't know the effective date.

Here's the full notice in case you want to look up new online rates etc.

I scoured this entire long document that you provided but can't find the new FCP rates. What I am missing here? I must have overlooked it. Do you know whereabouts on the document I can find these increases?

ebay big shots could not be happier. A postal rate increase is a hidden fee increase across the board for ebay.

Look at section I E of the document - FCP up 3.9%

I'll take 1 cent on a letter and 5 cents on the FCP. It could have been worse.

Good ole inflation. They do it almost every year it seems. Funny, my income never gets an inflation bump, but the cost of living always does. Remember folks, inflation is compounding interest year over year.

I would take 5 cents on a FCP, but that is not what the increase is. 5 cents is on flat rate.
The increase for a First Clas Parcel online rate is more like 10%:) (on many weights)
I do a lot of FCP's so that will take a bite out of my take home on that, but still beats trying to use UPS.

I just assume postal rates will increase annually, as will certain other of my business costs.. I just don't always know which of those might be the ones that will hit me in any given year.
I've been in business for many years, and in sales for a lot of them. I've never known a year or a sales platform where my costs didn't increase overall year after year.
But, as with any other business, costs are all rolled back into the selling prices of the merchandise, so the buyers cover it all, just like we do in the Real Stores.

Indeed, the increase for a FCP up to 4 ounces is just 5 cents, but for a package of 15.999 ounces, the increase from $4.30 to $4.94 is almost 15%.

I read that link that left out first class package but did say all other services will average a 3.9 percent increase. Today my 3.00 lightweight mail cost 3.50 or nearly 17% jump. That stinks

That big jump is in the retail prices. The online rate went up 5 cents which is less than 2%.

Big increases realized for eBay with the amount First Class Parcels went up...even if it's only 10% of the increase. Millions more pennies each day....adds up fast to a big raise.
