Any thought on how to ship without exposing my address? Buyer offered more than ask, wanted overnight shipping; then when I wouldn't do so, wanted to pick up item himself. Not a high end item. Buyer said it was urgent to have it fast. I believe he may have had an agenda to relieve me of some of the high end items that were listed. I ended all my listings to avoid him directing a friend to make a purchase for the purpose of obtaining my address. Any thoughts other than P.O. Box with my user name as shipper, or shipping from another address. Don't want to expose another person to a potentially unsafe situation. Never had anyone suggest coming over in person after the attempt to get something overnight due to purported urgency. Thank you in advance.

If they want over night shipping, they pay for it not you. They need to pay the difference for over night shipping. If you are going to offer local pick up, make sure you meet in mutual place like the parking lot of the Police dept and bring a friend. Just some advice.
Happy Selling.

How is this a "unsafe" situation?
I don't know how long you've been selling but I honestly think you are making way too much out of this.
A seller asking to get an item quicker and/or asking to pick the item up is not unusual at all.
Ending your other listings because of this buyer?
Not wanting to share your address?
That's just too much.
I would treat this sale like any other sale.

Thank you. I believe though, the interest was not in this lower end item, but to find the location of the higher end ones, and obtain them through robbery, unfortunately. Just my very suspicious opinion.

I think you're being WAY too paranoid. I've had buyers ask if I could upgrade the shipping method to something faster because they wanted it by a certain date-- there's nothing weird about that at all.

You have to have local pickup enabled on the listing, otherwise there is no way for you to prove they picked the item up. No to changing address or providing any shipping service that was not already in the listing, you will lose what little protection sellers have.
Go to the Help/Contact and read up on local pickups, it is covered there.
Hope you included signature required, that watch is over the $750 threshold. Unless you have a PO box, things shipped USPS have to have a return address, so that cat is out of the box re where you live. Did they pay? If not open a non payment after the 4 days are up and block them.

You've been on eBay for over 10 years. If concerns about your address, get yourself a PO box. I see you sell some $$ watches, and can understand your concerns, but, when selling online, you are exposed to many individuals, just like when selling on a brick & mortar store you are exposed to pickpocketing, smash and grabs. There is no "safe" way to do business.
