While you are speaking with the item specifics people,

I'm sorry I didn't see the tag @postcardcountry! I'm glad you called that out in the weekly chat though. I just wanted to follow-up and let you know that I've passed all of this on to the team. Thank you!

You did not create the @ mention to Velvet correctly. I'm not sure exactly how you're doing it, but the tag should look like the one I've just created in this post to @ mention you.
As you can see, the hyperlink in your original post that you thought was an @ mention does not start with an "@" sign . . .
Let me know if that works for you or if I have forgotten a step along the way.

I see the "@" sign doesn't show up in the @ mention for Velvet, either! 🤔
But if you click on the @ mention you posted for Velvet, you'll see it doesn't go anywhere. When you click on the @ mention I posted for Velvet, it goes to her Community profile page. Good way to double-check whether an @ mention has been posted correctly.

- Type the @ sign.
- When the list of potential member ids appears, type a few letters of the velvet's member id.
- Allow the feature to find a potential list of members you're trying to contact.
- Narrow it down by adding one letter at a time until you see "@velvet@ebay."
- Select it.
- Confirm that the @ mention begins with an actual "@" sign.

Good catch @pburn, I missed their missing @ sign. That would explain why I didn't get the notification.
I also wanted to follow-up with you @postcardcountry since I heard back about your suggestions. They will be able to implement them in the coming weeks and they thanked you for the additional catch of the Central America 'continent' concern. They said it will be early in the new year before they can get it removed but it's on their list. Thank you again!

Just to pipe in here...........great that they are going to implement the suggestions!..... velvet@ebay, but does anyone realize/appreciate the labor that's going to be involved for sellers to revise their listings? Many have 1000's of listings........
This is an example of WHY changes should be be vetted among knowledgeable sellers BEFORE they go live.
I hope that gets passed on also.

dhbookds,
I think they did ask knowledgeable people...Just not US sellers.
The categories are basically British, circulated was a British term, the postcard makers in the drop down box were 43 British/European vs 2 US.
They won't admit it though.....

Mmmm. I don't think they did. The way this was implemented and some of the craziness of the IS's, makes me believe that no one was consulted that knows much about postcards.
Take the year marker type. No one searches a postcard pre or post WWII. At least you can now put in Chrome, Linen, etc., but that should have been one of the first changes made. It's a basic part of narrowing down a search. That particular IS should never have been messed with.
This is one of the things that make me believe no one with postcard selling knowledge was consulted.
What I do know, is that anyone selling any amount of postcards, has a GIGANTIC task of fixing many listings and specifics, that it was completely counter productive and time consuming for the category. That they are giving sellers months to fix this, just tells you they knew what a monumental task this was going to be. And to be honest, I am about 60+% through them, and it's not improving sales at all. Matter of fact, postcard sales are slower then they should be.
Good or bad, just what I think.

There are so many issues... I am too tired to mention them all at this time because I spent hours today (and days before) updating IS on my postcards. I still have over 600 to update and I am not doing anything else besides doing quick relists, but no time for new listings.
What is irritating the most is that I have to enter the name of the city most of the time when its already in the title! Or, the form suggests the wrong city name...
Also, what about non-topographical postcards like greetings and holidays, etc. for which you are being forced to enter an "artist" or the wheel will not turn fully blue (which I believe restrict view of the item?). I ended up typing "n/a"
This is so discouraging. I have unsold cards to relist (and update), and so many new cards I do not have the time to work on.
Ha... yes, and what about non-topographical cards moved in topographical!!!!
And what about the old IS still on the form? If you don't delete them the list of IS on the listing page is ridiculously repetitive.
This postcard categories change is a monstrous mess! It did not have to be this way.
I am done venting... Feeling better now.

I understand here you are coming from. I started with 5,000 listings to fix. Trust me, I get your frustration.
I guess what makes me the most upset, is all this time I have spent "fixing" listings, I still am not getting the sales I should be. Hours and hours have been spent, but there is yet to be a payoff.

Same here. It seems that the more I update IS the less sales.
I guess buyers who search using categories must have a difficult time finding what they want within the categories mess.
