Post video??

Is there a way to post on a listing a video to show a toy is working? Or do you have to just post "action" still shots? Maybe a You Tube link but that sounds like alot of trouble?? Thanks for all help. Much appreciated.

Hi everyone! YouTube links are acceptable as long as they lead directly to a video that does not violate any of our policies. The full details can be found here. Thanks @hidy-hoo for sharing the screenshot of our policies!

Re: Post video??

In regards to adding videos to your listing is something I am not too sure if it really helps. I have been adding videos to my listings and really never seen a jump in sales for me anyway. My reason for saying this is first the time invested in producing your video and then you need the YouTube converter to upload it then copying the HTML code in your listing is more work then what it is worth. I have been doing this for some time. I do sneak peek videos, demo videos and intro videos showcasing my items that are on eBay and to be up front and honest with you it has done little to no improvement with help making a sale. Let alone the issue with buyers not reading the descriptions I can't see them watching a video about an item. I say this because I have done this and seen the results and the results did not work for me. And if people think they are getting views on there YouTube video it doesn't mean they were getting them from an eBay listing they may have seen that video on YouTube rather than eBay. The only way you will know is if the buyer told you that the video was what made them purchase your item. In closing, if you want to venture off and add a video to your eBay listing I say go for it and if you do and find that it helped with sales please let us know. I am only sharing my viewpoints on this topic because I thought it would have helped and it did not but who knows you might get the right buyer who makes a buying decision based off your video.

Goodluck!

Thank you for that useful analysis. You are correct that videos are not the answer to every product, and if they aren't working, the effort is wasted.

I typically envision that videos work best with an item that has a sound or motion that a buyer typically wants to hear or see in person (music box, musical instrument, recording, wind chimes, cuckoo clock, machinery, vehicle rev, pinball machine, windup toy, and such).  I have also seen jewelry and gemstones tilted and turned in a very short video clip to display the highlights.

I doubt that buyers are interested in video ads for other products or "about us" types of videos.

There are some who use a video to describe how to use an item. I'm not sure if those types of videos increase sales or reduce returns.  In your case, they don't increase sales. Have they reduced returns or questions?

DON'T wast your time . ebay - thinks that videos can and will be fake and still rule for the buyer .
