I had to put my selling account on vacation mode due to personal reasons. A possible buyer sent me a message asking if they brought some of the items they would not get sent out until October. Would it be wise for me to put that person on blocked buyer/bidder list?

Well, no, i would definitely not put a buyer on the block list for expressing an interest in buying my items. What led you to this conclusion?
They have likely been following/watching your item(s) and want to inquire as to your status. Sounds like they are hoping for a timely purchase. That is not a violation of any policy. Politely answer their inquiry, or not, but i would not burn any bridges over it, since you intend to return to selling.

If you're on vacation mode, they are getting that adjusted delivery date estimates. So I would suspect they just poorly worded an inquiry as to whether they could get a sooner delivery date. Politely explain, without personal details, that you are simply unable to ship anything during this period. If they still want to know why, "personal reasons" should be fine, or "family issues", or if you really want to get them to leave you alone, tell them that's when you expect your trial to be over and your lawyer says you've got a good chance at being acquitted.
Of just don't respond. There currently is no requirement to respond to any member inquiry, period. And if your business is offline, you wouldn't be getting the message and would have nothing to respond to or any way to respond.

This would be an obvious no from myself. If this was a buyer asking me, I would just cite personal reasons, depending on if the reason is appropriate to disclose. You could choose not to respond too, it's your choice at the end of the day
I get it's annoying especially when you get messaged but it happens

Why don't you take the listing down? if you don't have someone that can help you out with your items sold, it's just good business to end the listing until you can ship out again. I always message sellers who do this sort of thing and if they don't reply I add them to my block list because in the future when i start selling again I don't want to deal with a person that would leave listing up to gain attention, but are not serious about selling.
