Pos feedback followed by "There was no communication"

So I received positive feedback from a buyer on another ID.  Decent comment followed by "There was no communication".  I know pos feedback is pos feedback and not to poke a sleeping bear but I can't figure out if the buyer means that the no communication was a good or bad thing.  I guess I really don't care, just curious what others think.  This person never messaged me, so ignoring the buyer is not the issue.  Maybe the buyer wished I had called them out of the blue just to shoot the breeze (weather, state of the world, local sports team)?  Or maybe they were happy that I had zero communication with them except for the pos feedback I left at purchase thanking them.  Don't know, don't care, just bored tonight so hence the thread.  Anybody care to hazard a guess as to why they would put this in their pos feedback to me (checked their other feedback left and they only left this comment for me in the years they've been leaving feedback).  Again, I don't care just bored tonight.

This sounds familiar...

Wow, that is the exact same senario.  Maybe its a new trend - buyers that buy just to spark up a conversation.  Can't be the same buyer though because I was the only seller they left this comment to in all the years they've been on Ebay.  Weird stuff.

Hi. Regarding your situation where they made a specific statement of "no communication", this buyer would probably have appreciated a little something from you acknowledging their order. I am not of the same mind as southern*sweet*tea. They dont sound that sweet given their attitude about communication (if you read the thread they sent the link for). I don't communicate as much as I used to since ebay sends shipment communications also but I do like to send an order received/thank you/item shipping today or tomorrow or whenever and try to tailor it to that buyer's purchase so it sounds a little more personal and I absolutely think that in most cases they appreciate it whether they get back to me or not. I want them to know that I do appreciate their business and don't take it for  granted. It only takes a couple of minutes and I don't sell so much that I can't find time to do it. I just got an order tonight, sent a quick thank you msg and they replied back "Well, thank you. I did not expect that but it is appreciated. Blessings to you, Ms. Linda". It's rare that I get that type of message back. I do it because I think it's good customer service. That's probably what your customer wanted..just something from you personally. My gripe lately has been sellers who harass buyers for positive feedback. So much so that a buyer of mine left neg fb on a previous purchase from a seller who writes in her listing that if you buy from her you agree to leave positive fb and if you don't she harasses you about it. Then she replies to that neg fb by saying That is so wrong and gives ebay a bad look. That will ruin a buyer on leaving positive feedback for anybody and I don't blame her. This feedback system is stressful as it is without other sellers ruining it. Not only that, most buyers are sellers now and they know how it works.  Her reply to the neg fb is BLOCKED YOU FROM FUTURE BIDDING BECAUSE OF YOUR ATTITUDE AND ISN'T IT AMAZING YOU COULDN'T LEAVE TIMELY FEEDBACK BEFORE AND NOW IT'S NASTY. Other people see that too. I've read on these boards where people who buy on "other sites" come over here and read that kind of thing and it turns them off from buying on ebay altogether. So, common courtesies and trying to do the right thing is always a good thing. Some sellers are so burnt out on ebay but still do business here and their negative attitudes are reflected in the business they conduct. We want to keep ebay a great place to buy and sell. You could try some communicating with your next 5 or 10 orders and just see what happens. Most people will appreciate the personal touch, I think.

My guess is they didn't mean anything.

They clicked "Positive".

It asked them to fill in some stars.

One of those was for "Communication".  Either eBay blocked this field, or the buyer left it blank.

It then asks them for "Comments".  I think the new screen says something like "Tell Us More".

They left an explanation as to why the Communication stars were left blank.

Maybe it's someone's new Leave Feedback page having "unintended consequences".

It's because of the new stupid feedback questionaire. It asks something to the effect of rate communication. Well, most sales don't have communication--especially if all goes smoothly--so your buyer simply stated a fact.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I think this is such a ridiculous FB system now that it's turning buyers off to leaving any FB. Be happy yours did and it was positive.

i wouldn't read too much into it.

some say the new FB process has become a hassle.

perhaps ur buyer was just describing the transaction:

saying there was no communication because in fact there was none.

have you ever filled up 1 of these surveys online?

where u are being asked;

were the sales persons helpful, were your questions answered...?

silly questions i never know how to answer because i didn't need their help shopping or i didn't have any questions...

anyhow i am sure ur buyer meant nothing by it...

just my opinion.

@modulok!

They have messed up the FB page for both buyers and sellers.

In the past I could leave FB for my buyers with just a click or two.

But now not so much, click after click after click.

Is the wording the same on both?  Maybe the field is pre-filling on some mobile gadgets?

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.
