Poor sales continue

Sales have dropped from 1200 per month to being lucky to get 12. Our current inflation and policies are destroying free Lance businesses in favor of big corporations. The best advice I can give is to vote with your wallet and not the lies we hear about how great it is.

What is too old to sell? I am 83, is that too old?

No cheerleader here, but I will tell you have to diversify your products. Walmart doesn't sell onions with a verity of flavors, Walmart, Target, and others sell in all categories.

Markets shift, consumer habits shift, what I sold on eBay 20 or 15 years ago would not sell today. I remember I used to sell laser pointers for around $30, now they wouldn't sell for 99c, and still have a ton of them.  I sold many hot items at their time like handheld TVs, PDAs, and such that do not sell today, your business has to evolve.

And by the time it evolves, you'll be too old to sell.

      One item that has withstood the test of time is the sale of political **bleep**. Segments of the American public have been buying it for over 200 years although I will agree the form has changed a bit. 😀

We all hope for that.Did anyone notice a shrp drop in sales right after they started cpollecting taxes also? I think we've all given enough taxes to bloat our current government's bank accounts. We need relief from everything and not more expense.Too bad I'm not illegal.I could be living in a 300 dollar a night room with the government furnishing everything off American tax payers backs.

I would consider that as fake news or an exaggerated truth for grading us on a whole scale.I'm sure some individuals do well but it is not the new norm.

How is inflation destroying "freelance" businesses in  favoring big corporations?

A general increase in prices should help small resellers, especially those with existing inventory.

I don't know where you got my sales figures but you are way off. Go turn some news that tells you how great things are.There's your alternative facts.

And I don't.I used to keep over 150 listings and cards worth much more than listed but I'm not giving them away.I just stopped listing high end stuff until a new economy arrives. I expect nothing short of underselling currently and just keeping a small inventory to see if times get better. You can cut your prices if you want.

I'm not so sure about his policies killing our economy more than being invaded by illegals and spending on everything but Americans. My sales were good up until the first part of 21'.Wonder what happened to change it?I think I know.

How do you see someone selling a low volume compared to mass sales of corporations and big businesses helping a small business to compete? They can afford to discount beyond what we can.

You said I had 38 listings right? Well I have 68 currently and i used to keep over 150 at least before 2021 and much of those listings were much higher than what's on there now.I'm just keeping a minimum until we have someone that can run our economy better.Y&ou can continue to discount away but I put most of my good stuff away for better times.

I haven't paid to have any cards graded.I'm only going to pay for Jordan,Kobe,Mantle and a few other top performers and some with autos.My current store and listings are a bare minimum to operate in hopes of improvements in our economy after 24'.Sales are nothing like they were before mid 21'.

This is just a small sample of how things went downhill after 2020.Did you happen to see my sales back then?Obviously not.I'm not the only one experiencing this.
