Sales have dropped from 1200 per month to being lucky to get 12. Our current inflation and policies are destroying free Lance businesses in favor of big corporations. The best advice I can give is to vote with your wallet and not the lies we hear about how great it is.

I agree. The regressive DeSantis social policies really are killing the economy in Florida.

There are hundreds of posts concerning slow/no sales on this forum daily in multiples. I can only advise to hang in there and hope that the up coming holidays will give us all some financial relief. Many of us are feeling it, believe me. Sorry for your frustration.

I am not sure if eBay is the only ecommerce site you are using but one of the impacts of COVID was the rapid increase in the number of ecommerce sites. With the current economy buyers are searching for the best value across multiple venues as well as local forums. EBay used to constitute the biggest percentage of my sales somewhere in the 90% range. Over the past 5 years that percentage has dwindled to less than 20%. Most of my sales are on other platforms and venues a lot of which are local where there are no fees or low fees and most of the sales are local pickup so the buyer is not paying for shipping or worrying about loss or damage in transit. I can also lower my asking price to be commensurate with the platform/venue I am selling on.
While sales have slowed somewhat on those venues as well it is nothing compared to the downturn in my eBay sales. I agree with ckimodog hopefully the fourth quarter will see an upswing as holiday shopping starts to take ahold, provided people can afford it.

Hearing about how great it is
You can never rule out, some cheerleaders may still arrive to say their ebay sales are now better than ever before.

I hope things get better for you As a previous poster mentioned with the holidays coming it might be just what you and other sellers need. All you can do is keep trying like that old saying says, you throw enough at the wall something has to stick.

You can never rule out someone coming along saying they are not doing bad being called a cheerleader.
My sales have been fairly steady for 24 years and definitely never went from 1,200 sales a month to 12. I can say for 100% positive if the OP has sold cards all these years it is easy to see why their sales dropped.

My sales have been so good, that I am currently in the market for a new yacht. On top of that, I have scheduled a 2 week getaway to Monte Carlo and will most likely be retiring a multi-millionaire by age 40, and YES i'm kidding.

You are selling in a very saturated market, sports trading cards, and also a market where Ebay is favoring inventory in its "vault". In addition, it is a market that may be beginning to fade. In such a situation it is common in collectibles that the investment grade items hold some value while the rest of the market fades quickly. And I do hope you did not pay to have that $5.99 card graded.

Does that offend you?

You have sold 789 items all time and have 38 listing, but you used to sell 1200 a month which has now dropped to 12 a month? Talk about alternative facts lol

With respect, you can't expect 1200 sales with only 68 listings, especially with sports cards. Unless you have another selling ID your 12:12,000 ratio is irrelevant here.

No cheerleader here, but I will tell you have to diversify your products. Walmart doesn't sell onions with a verity of flavors, Walmart, Target, and others sell in all categories.
Markets shift, consumer habits shift, what I sold on eBay 20 or 15 years ago would not sell today. I remember I used to sell laser pointers for around $30, now they wouldn't sell for 99c, and still have a ton of them. I sold many hot items at their time like handheld TVs, PDAs, and such that do not sell today, your business has to evolve.
And by the time it evolves, you'll be too old to sell.

laser pointers for around $30
Now that brings back some memories 😂
