So I sold my first item and shipped it but the house is apparently for sale?? I got signature confirmation, but can the buyer claim that they didn't receive the item, if the address on both ebay and paypal are the same, is my money protected?

Howdy, and congratulations on your first sale!

There are many things to consider in your case:  He can say he didn't receive it, but not if he signed for it (which is the only way he'd receive it)...if the house is for sale, and empty, then the mail carrier will probably take the item back to the local post office and search for a new forwarding address.  Or, the item might be returned to you as undeliverable.   If the paypal address is the one you've sent the item to, you should be covered by seller protection.  The buyer should have anticipated, or known better than to order something going to an empty house.  Or maybe he didn't realize it would require a signature, and he thought he'd just drive over and pick the package up off the porch?  Sorry to overwhelm you with possibilities!  But I wouldn't panic...wait andsee what  happens, one day at a time!  Best of luck!

The seller is responsible for the package until it is delivered. Check your tracking, as long as you get that delivered verbiage on your tracking than you are golden. If you also have a signature, better yet, but you really only need the tracking to say delivered and you are covered by eBay.
BTW, exactly how do you know the house is for sale? How was that communicated to you as the seller?

If you successfully got the packaged signed for as shown in the tracking for it, then your money is protected in regards to an Item not Received case. But there are other ways a buyer can get his money back. Be aware and educate yourself with other monetary risks not related to INR (Item not received)... if you haven't already.

One issue you might to consider when purchasing signature confirmation. It's possible that no one is ever home during the day to sign for the package. So it may return back to you eventually because of this. This can create problems with both ebay and/or the buyer being upset. I only get signature confirmation when the purchase price is over $750, as required by ebay for seller protection.
