My obsolete sheriff's anniversary badge and millennium badge were taken down due to eBay's policy. However I see many police and sheriff's badges for sale on eBay violating the same policy I am being accused of. An obsolete badge is a real badge that an agency no longer uses because they went to a new one or the agency no longer exists. Either way many of the obsolete badges currently allowed to be sold on eBay "Look Real" because they "Are Real". They are just not being used anymore by the agency just like mine. The policy appears to be selectively enforced.

They only allow connected people to sell certain items...ebay mafia. True story. Crooked cops.

I had vintage police badges from the 1950s listed (from Great Britain), not anymore though.
I was in the eBay chat to ask what the rules were, and this was basically what I was told:
- If it looks like something in use (even though it's not), it comes down.
- If the agency requests it, it comes down (referring to my RCMP pins that got taken down, then I took the rest of the badges down too)
So being old or being obsolete doesn't mean it gets to stay up (and I find it weird they have a category for it if it's against their policy).
I was asking about my 1950's badges because they all said ER (Elizabeth Regina), and I explained that Queen Elizabeth has been the monarch since 1952, so we would have to go back to King George to find ones that don't look like they could still be in use.
Anyway taking it down was the easiest solution, then I don't have to worry about them being reported, or caught by bots, or looking like modern badges, etc.
